Looking for SDS-max to 1-1/4" X 6" hex adapter

Hi All,

Would someone point me to an adapter that would accept a 1-1/4" X 6" or 1-1/8" X 6" hex tool and fit inside of an SDS-Max chuck if there is such a thing? Sometimes it would be nice to avoid dragging out a jackhammer and air hose when the work is relatively light. Thanks for any information.

They make SDS max chisels, points, and digging spoons.

Why would you want to add a big honking adapter that robs power annd therefore slows work, increases weight you have to lug around, and increases wear on the tool?

Ya I'm confused too. My sds max has chisels made for it. Putting an adapter on wouldnt be ideal.

Because I have the 1-1/4 X 6 tooling already but would like to have an easier way to use it when the demands are light.

Also, you own an air jack hammer and tow behind compressor??? 😳
I already have the air and hammer. My point is that just dragging the air hose is more work than a small job. Adapters are rarely the ideal solution, but they can be the lesser of evils.

Cripe Distributing usually has good deals on SDS max bits

That adaptor doesnt exist. And if it did, it would likely cost more than a proper set of bits.
Which leaves another option, make it yourself.

I’ve only ever seen adapters that go down in size, not up. Was ogling a spline to SDS for my old Bosch 11202 a while back

I have no clue if an adapter like you want exists or not but even if it did it would be as much if not more then just buying a few sds bits you would need to do the same thing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at their site and found that SDS-max bits are a lot cheaper than the 1-1/4 X 6 hex equivalents. I do like to have adapters to be prepared for unexpected circumstances, but it seems like getting some duplicates may be the best solution here.
