Anyone ever heard of JET tools (canadian)?

Look to be proudly Canadian and I see them forsale at parts source(Canadian version of autozone) and they cost a pretty penny and look to be very well made.

Anyone have any experience/information with their tools?

They're imported tools for the most part.Good quality overall.I've used them for many years.A former employer outfitted his shop with them.As far as them costing a pretty penny they're relatively inexpensive compared to most professional tools.Expensive compared to Princess Auto maybe but way cheaper than Proto,Gray,Snap on,Mac or other pro grade tools.The fliers they put out every couple months have some decent pricing.

Wasn't aware that PartSource carried Jet, that's interesting. Been a while since I've been in Partsource. Do they carry much of it, or just bits and pieces?

From what i can remember they carry a good amount of their stuff, i remember seeing vices and wrenches, but im sure even if its not in store they can order for next day pick up.

Elroy,they offer a full line of hand tools,air tools,equipment,toolboxes.You may have only been looking at their air tool flyer.They put out a different flyer for each section of the business.They also sell the Hastings line of engine tools.

I posted an question about Jet Tools on anothere thread about tools in general.I have a couple of Jet sets,they were made in Japan.I don't know if they still are however.I think there is Jet Tools and Jet Equipment both are distributors from what I have gathered..One is Canadian one is American.I do know that the Amercian outfit has tools that you can not get from the Canadian outfit.I asked the Canadaian distibutor about this Jet wide belt brinder attachment for an electric motor,he said it's available in the USA but not in Canada.As I noted before Jet Tools are available at Lordco

JET makes a fantastic line of woodworking tools (table saws, drill presses, lathes, etc). My buddy has been a high end carpenter for years and he loves their stuff.

The American company used to sell in Canada but bailed several years ago. I don't know if it's true or not but a former Jet (American) retailer in the GTA said that part of the reason to fold Canadian operations was because of a trademark issue with their company name.

It really is a damned shame because Jet (American) fills a nice niche in the woodworking market while Jet (Canada) is just another line of Asian tools that nobody knows much about.

I'll have to check out Lordco. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, Lordo carries the JET line of tools. Nothing spectacular; not garbage either.

Do you mind posting some pictures of those Japanese made wrenches? Everything I've seen at pawnshops and fleamarkets are China/Taiwan.

If they put as much pride in tools as they do in cars, I guess Japan made tools should much better than the China made ones.

Some of the machinery that aids in making modern tools is made in Japan, and they can be found in different parts of the world. And besides, China has only recently begun their auto industry.

i've had a set of Jet screwdrivers for about 10 years now, they have been to hell and back and still look and work good. not bad for a 30$ set!
