Can’t help taking it apart, take pictures along the way & hope the bearings have numbers stamped on them.

Maybe a Google search might turn up on it?

Just my 1/2 cents worth

Does that sound like bad bearings to you?

I can’t hear anything .

But that shaft play shouldn’t be that way- just a scientific wild guess- I’d say bearing .

If those knifes need sharpened - they can be a pain to place them back . At least mine was, you tubes can help on that.

probably really worn bearings. "easy" is a relative term. it should be easy to do , if you have the necessary tools. might need pullers etc .
likely they are very common bearings, available online or at a bearing supply house.
if it was mine, I'd be digging into it to see what's up

Are they ball bearings or sleeve?

Also, as noted, remove the belt and see where the noise is coming from. It could be something as simple as a loose pulley.

If it's ball bearings, there should be no side play. If they're sleeve type, a small amount of side play is normal.

Thanks for all the replies! I did spin it with the belt unhooked, the motor is fine. I was pretty sure that the amount of movement I saw in the shaft meant bad bearings. I will try to get some new ones and swap them.
