I have an oldish Sears Model #706596261 Official Craftsman roll-away tool chest. Has anyone found an off-brand replacement for a tool chest drawer slide with locking handle? The part number is 27834, which SearsPartsDirect shows as " The manufacturer no longer makes this part, and there's no substitute part." It's a nice way of telling me they can't help I suppose. I can see various drawer slides available on the internets, but nothing specifically for this chest. Rather see if someone has something they can share instead of trying a few blindly.

You have the Griplatch box. I love those! They come up for sale on CL and FB every once in awhile. I think other companies make similar boxes, but they have other names. Posilatch is one. Try contacting one of those companies and see if they have interchangeable parts. Let us know if the Cman FB page has any info.

Good luck!

That *****,,, I bought my first box in 1985 and it has given me no problems, but alas my next box was bought around 1992, and the bottom drawer will not stay shut, dang thing creeps open from time to time.

good to know about the Waterloo OEM, still it ***** that Stanley has forsaken any parts. I guess it is a throw away society.

Craftsman will ship parts. I don’t believe they have any of the 30-40 year old slides that Waterloo never manufactured in stock though. You need to call them to get parts and other info, they don’t reley on their web site for that.

There are several different PNs for the Griplatch slides. I looked into slides for mine, different number than yours, 5+ years ago when they were still available, and they were ~$20 each. That was too much for me, since I wanted ~10 of them, and I didn't really need them, so I figured I'd just find a beat up box used and get the slides. Surprisingly, this has not been easy for me to find in my area.

Calling the Waterloo number has rumored to still get you parts. I’ve tried, and got nowhere, but thought I saw it on here recently.

I 3D printed some drawer catches for my same era box. The file is on Thingiverse if you have or know someone with a printer. Work well too. My puller drawer and hammer drawers would roll out. Dealt with it for Many years
