Building a 4x12 shed and I'm at the siding portion of the install. Don't want to throw too much money at this so just spit balling ideas.

I have enough cedar planks for the back to do an overlap but I think that's a waste of good cedar for something no one will ever see.

OSB with Tyvek and ?

It does rain alot here but the shed is underneath a big tree.

It is pretty common to use Smartside panel siding on sheds without any other sheathing underneath. You can often find reasonably priced Smartside panel siding on Facebook Marketplace.

Smartside panel does sheathing and siding at once. Primer is super durable and lasts a long time without paint if you like the tan

Thats how I did my last sheds. They are $45 a panel, thats why I asked for cheap. I wish they sold simple plastic sheet like panels you could just pop into place and screw in a few screws. Hmmmmmm.

Too bad you are not in the Minneapolis area. I have 20 sheets of Smartside panel siding I would give you that would work for a shed. I want it out of my house. There are several listings locally for Smartside panels at $30 each. I don't think $30 is bad when you don't need sheathing underneath. I wouldn't use this stuff without sheathing for a house or garage, but it is done all the time for sheds.

Thanks, I'd be on it like a fat kid on a donut!

I went ahead and used OSB sheets painted over, hopefully it will last a few years. I just need to consolidate all my sh...t that I have in containers all over the yard in different locations.

Got tired of knowing I have something but can't find it due to me sticking stuff in a container for future use. I'm going to purge a bunch of **** and consolidate......I hope.
