coats 20-20- spin bar going to fast

old coats 20-20- super star changer the center spin bar is out of control go's to fast its gonna kill me the return is fine! Anybody have any ideas

I have trouble imagining a Tire Changer Fasting, Perhaps you meant to type it is moving too quickly.

way to quickly after tire is off bar just takes off super fast very dangerous

I don’t have a Tire Machine, what powers your spinning bar? If is pneumatic you might restrict the air flow.

If is motor driven perhaps you can reduce the motor speed.

Its pneumatic will have to take apart hoping someone had same problem to clue me in i am sure it will have some valves maybe one is stuck.

Have you checked your owners manual or spoken with your dealer?
old machine 1980s I will take apart sure i will find the problem just hoping someone had the kwik fix these are great old changer they have a few valves in there for all movements just have to find the right one hopefully it can be rebuilt.

You may have an adjustment on the supply to a cylinder, something like a needle valve, that can restrict the air flow to the cylinder involved.

Maybe you can find someone who has a machine like yours and will grant you an “Infomercial interview” ? If you get one don’t forget to bring Bagels or Doughnuts.

I am gonna take all the valves apart and clean/rebuild if bad! Will find it i never give up! come to Mn. i will by bagels

Iirc, my old coats machine used a single large, like 6" or 7" diameter air cylinder and that one cylinder drove everything through linkages. The center post was gear driven with a large sector gear driving the smaller gear on the post. That sector gear was driven by one of those linkages. I don't recall any dampening mechanisms but there also weren't any air restrictions since you wouldn't want to wait days for it to break a bead.

Thanks mine is like that! Remember was their oil in that big cylinder? Thinking that maybe thats why it is so radical maybe it needs oil to calm it down?
