My local snap on guy stopped in the shop today and I grabbed a flier. Found this pretty interesting that snap on is now selling the 2pc option of the vessel megadora impacta for 40 dollars. Wonder if they will start selling other vessel stuff or outsource there screwdrivers or handles anytime soon

Vessel is a good product. My thoughts are it would be a good non-rebadged option to have available for their everyday Snap-on Customers.

Did Snap-on ever sell anything JIS?

I feel like Impacta really shine on those dang Honda rotor retention screws.

Snap on must have realized they couldn't build a better impact screwdriver?!?

I have been sticking to Vessel for all things phillip in particular.

I seldom encounter JIS fasteners. Are these as useful when working with Phillips or do they offer a discrete Phillps?
The "so called" JIS screwdrivers, which are no longer made by Vessel or anybody else, Are made to the new DIN standard and actually fit normal Phillips screws better than old time Phillips screwdrivers.

I bought mine specifically for that function and the epiphany of using proper JIS drivers was the unexpected bonus. What? These aren't phillips and THAT'S why they always strip? Yes, they are JIS and with the correct driver have plenty of grip most of the time.

I think there is a new ISO standard that supersedes JIS and DIN, and "Phillips" is now supposed to conform to that as well.

^ I don't know JIS or DIN from my ***, but I do know those two little Vessel phillips units in that first photo image I posted just above are far and away better than ANY of the other phillips drivers I've owned. No comparison.

You should have posted this with your photos of the random assortment of screwdrivers to give context to the pictures.

Thanks for that info.
I'll be buying a Vessel #2 with the through tang so I can beat the **** out of rusty stuff.

Vessel still makes screwdrivers to the JIS profile, they just don’t pay for JIS certification, choosing ISO instead. See attached.

Snap on dealers can get whatever their customers want for the most part. Snap on has a separate catalog of non snap on brand tools. Everything from Astro to Vim and beyond. Ask your dealer.

It's called the Supplemental Tools catalog. They have periodic flyers too with new additions. Awhile back I noticed Vessel in one of the new flyers.

I didn't ask about price because most of this supplemental stuff is priced at least double what you pay elsewhere for no reason other than convenience... That is assuming they have it on the truck, otherwise you would still have to wait for your dealer to order it and ship to him/her. You might as well just buy it yourself on Amazon or wherever else, it's cheaper and/or probably faster.
