I'm far from a tool box expert, but I've never seen these mentioned on here before.. if you look at the results I screenshot, there's blue boxes with black drawers too..

I've seen them, or something almost identical at Home Depot. They were better than the normal boxes, but I still preferred the HF.

Yeah I noticed. Saw a video review from some guy checking one out in a Home Depot.

Husky's 56" wide box is 24" deep vs 22" deep for HF's 56" box with same 18 gauge steel but 100 lb drawer slide rating vs HFs 80 lbs. Also, the Husky is made in Canada, eh? (looks to be a rebadged 'International') and the HF is made in China.

Saw one at a home depot a few weeks ago. It's probably one of the nicest boxes available at a box store. I like the 24" depth. It is definitely nicer in my opinion than the HF 56". Definitely worth the few dollars more. If I had the cash I would buy it. I wish the 75" was available at Home Depot. As said above its a Canadian made international. Current prices are $1140 for the HF and $1200 (rounding up to nearest $). I will take the Canadian made deeper box any day of the week. Plus it doesn't have the stupid drawer latches that the HF box has. Again. My opinion seeing both in person.

I have a set of the blue body/black drawers. It's the construction as the standard black tool boxes that most stores stock in the Husky brand.

Saw the others on the website a few weeks back, they look nice but I doubt they'll make it to my store.

Thread Revivial - Did anybody buy these?

Harbor Freight US General Series 2 has been discontinued. 3 Series is more expensive, and actually more expensive than the Husky HD, and also largely unavailable in my area.
Reviews were a mixed bag - in that both Husky HD and US General are significantly better than Craftsman, HF Yukon, Kobalt, or Husky Standard, and not enough worse than HF Icon or Husky Pro to justify the cost of the top-line stuff.
Some reviewers prefer HF US General; some prefer Husky HD. Most are nit-picking, or pre-biased toward one or the other. They also point out that these two are more similar than they are different.
The only people who bash the quality of either Husky HD or US Gen are coming from fancy tool truck stuff, or use it for work all the time.
I'm just an occasional garage monkey who has lots of tools, likes quality stuff, but hates wasting money.
So, I got the Blue Husky HD.
72" Workbench here:

56" Toolbox just delivered, but not unboxed yet.

Impressions so far: Detents are strong - drawers are tight but feel like quality. Casters are a little difficult to lock. Unit is HEAVY. Built-in power strip is on the right - I'm planning to lock the unit in place, not install handles, and **** the toolbox up against it - so I won't get to utilize that. Will need to stuff the power cord into the little port it pops out of. Blue is close to my 2012 BMW Deep Sea Blue. Wife thinks it's pretty. (Very important for garage tool storage???) Overall, so far, very happy with the purchase. Can't wait to put it to moderately hard use.

….Happy with the purchase.
And he’s using it as a bar. I can see reasons for both bolded phrases, maybe they tie together? 😉

I didn't even take a drink!!!

Using it for makeshift food prep when we visit, due to here's the current kitchen in that house:

I actually took everything off the bench, wrapped it back in plastic, and drove home 150 miles to our fully-functional (rental) house.

I've got a thread on work-in-progress garage rehab somewhere around here. I'm letting pros do the kitchen.

RTM - Where are you in the Bay Area?
Our rental is in Mountain View, but I've lived all over down there:
MV, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Cambell, SJ, San Ramon... Still own a place in San Jose, but it's only got a 1-car carriage-house garage, so we rent it out.

For those of us not up on the Home Depot Husky Box naming, is the “Husky HD” mentioned mean heavy duty or Home Depot?
