I finally pulled the trigger on a lift, and purchased the AMGO OHX-10H lift. I did not find much information on this lift when searching, so thought it would be useful to share pictures and information, as well as my personal impressions of the lift. Specs found here:

https://www.amgohyd.com/product/ohx-10h/

This lift is extra tall, I purchased the extra wide kit, and it has the additional rise height I was looking for.

The AMGO lifts are made by Peak from what I can find. I was unsure of them at first, but after looking at a picture on another forum of the Derek Weaver W10-HD and the AMGO OH-10, I soon realized these were the same lifts! I even called Derek Weaver and asked, and they acknowledged this to be true, however, they for some reason don't sell the Derek Weaver version of the OHX-10H! The reviews on the Weaver lift were all 5 star, so I figured this OHX-10H had a good chance to be a good lift as well.

I ordered the lift Tuesday from Best Buy Equipment......and hope to have it within the next 7-10 days. Pics and more info coming soon! Hope to give you guys some good info regarding the pro's and con's of this lift, and some pics of the good and bad. Hopefully this will help others who are also debating which lift to spend their money on.

Finally received the lift yesterday! As someone not used to ordering via freight, it was frustrating to see the lift move from SC to Indy and just sit there at a terminal for almost a week! Finally, it moved on, and arrived yesterday. I only had time to unload it, snap some pics, and stand up the towers. Hoping to start installing today, but waiting for a friend to drop off a hammer drill and small scissor lift!

Overall, I am pretty satisfied. The lift arrived in good condition, aside from a small bend in the top of the tower where they had attempted to lift it with a fork lift. The odd thing is, I read that they suggest NOT lifting in the middle like we would all think is best......and when we attempted the side, it didn't work, and resulted in a little bent metal.

Welds look pretty good overall, base plates are 17'x19", which isn't the biggest I've seen, but looks sufficient. I believe they are 1/2" thick but need to measure. The carriages are 60" tall, and cylinders are 80" tall! The overall weight of the lift was like 1842lbs, so fairly beefy.

Enough chatter, here's some pics!! Let me know if there are any specific things you would like to see or measurements you'd like? I purchased the extra width kit, so it will be 168" tall, and drove thru clearance is 105 7/8".

Keep us posted. I have been looking at their four posters. Price seems to fall in the middle, between the Chinese generics everyone sticks their own label on and the Bendpack/ Atlas, and well below the commercial lifts.

I agree Finn. I looked long and hard to find an extended height lift, and it came down to this one, Bendpak, and I think Nussbaum has one. Nussbaum was way outta my budget, and I was torn on whether a Chinese bendpak was worth any more than the other Chinese lifts. I guess I'll never know!

What sold me.....if you look on the Derek Weaver site, the W10-HD they sell has all 5 star reviews, and I feel is a pretty trustworthy place to get reviews. That lift is the exact same lift as the Amgo OH-10, which is cheaper than this one! So I figured if folks liked that one, there's a pretty good chance I will like this one just fine.

I got it all anchored down last night, its rock solid. Gonna hookup the hydraulic hoses and safety locks today, and hopefully wire it up. One thing I will say, that I've read about nearly EVERY lift out there......the instructions are just OK. A little more thought and better pics would go a long way! But if you're somewhat mechanically inclined (and I would assume you are if you're buying a lift!), then its fine.

One other thing to mention.......the Amgo lifts are all advertised as a "plus shipping" item. Do yourself a favor and call around for the best price. This lift was advertised at $2999.00+freight, and $75.00 for the 6" extra width kit. I was able to get the whole package delivered for $3048.00!

I already purchased the screw up round adapters from Derek Weaker, and plan to get the frame cradle adapters soon.

Great to come across your post. I have similar requirements--extra tall lift to clear me at 6'2". But I have one more requirement--extra-low pads. This AMGO has 3 1/2" pad height! That compares to my other candidate, the Bendpak GP-7 which has 4 1/2" pad height. My Miata is just under 4 1/2".

I would buy the Bendpak were it not for the arm height...

Thanks for sharing! I'm still in the planning phases for my garage and being almost 6'5" I've been looking for a extra tall lift and the AMGO looks like a great option, added to my list for serious consideration when the time comes

Anyone else go with one of these or any follow up feedback on how this is working out?

Seems like this or the Bendpak XPR-10AXLS are the only options I can find with the extended lifting height I'm looking for

I'm about to pull the trigger on the XRP-10AXLS as well, i need the extra rise height.
Bendpak told me they are discontinuing this lift and coming out with a 10APX but no additional rise. :(

Did you end up with the AMGO, or the Bend Pak?

I see the 10APX is now on the website, but no option to buy yet. Would be nice to get it on the black friday deal they have going on.

I haven't order my lift yet, my first priority is getting the heat finished in my shop, getting close to finishing that up, then I'll be on to the next items and the lift is close to to top for the next thing to get settled

When the lift is at full height, does the cross bar on top limit what you put on it? I would think you would want the garage ceiling to be the limiting factor. But I guess as long as you can fit pick ups and SUVs, it's no problem.

Hey I saw your post from 2020 on the OHX-10X lift.

How do you like it after a few years?

Have you had a 3/4 ton truck on it?

I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on the OHX-10.

Can anyone comment on how "solid" this lift is with a 3/4 ton or bigger vehicle on it? I'm debating between the same 10k lift or Amgo 12k, which will be shorter overall, and less lift...

I've done quite a bit of comparing and I'm pretty sure my Atlas OH10X and the Amgo OHX10 are the same lifts. Both manufactured by Peak. Hell the rubber door guards on my Atlas even say AMGO on them  Anyway....I have 1 ton crew cab long box dually diesels on my Atlas OH10X all the time with zero issues. Been used daily for probably six years.

I just about pulled the trigger on another Atlas (PV10) but ended up going with the AMGO OH-12S (same as an Atlas PV12 as far as I can tell) for basically the same price as the PV10. Supposedly it has a little thicker columns than the OH10 variants also (6mm vs 5mm).

I decided for the 12K over the 10K for the extra width to be able to pull a trailer through or squeeze 100-150HP tractors through if need be.

Appreciate the reply! Yup, realize they are same as Peak lifts. I'm out measuring in my somewhat limited space shop right now. The width of the 12s would be nice, almost the max width I can install where I had planned... only leaves ~2' to a wall if centered in my widest door. Your OXH10 has 2 stage arms in rear and 3 in front? Any idea if the baseplates are larger on the 12s? I'm still leaning towards the 12k, but the extra height of the 10H would be nice. (I'm tall) Since you lift 1 tons no problem with your 10x... I'm still torn. :dunno: I only have 162" ceiling height to work with at the most. 10H would just squeeze under my existing florescent lights at 157" on short setting. 12S would be 2" shorter at 155.**. I would like ability to lift 1 ton pickups and do drivetrain work occasionally. How are you having yours shipped?

I have noticed my Atlas version has different arms than the AMGO. Mine do not have the "Super Asymmetric" like the AMGO (symmetric only) and both front and rear arms are just two stage.

2' between wall and post will be tight at times but Ive seen ones closer. But if the vehicle is raised all the way up you will be walking under the lift instead of around it. Only pain would be with a vehicle half way up doing brakes etc. Whether or not the few extra inches from a narrower lift is beneficial is up to you.

Base plates from what I have found are almost the same. According to the Atlas website my OH10X actually has a base that is one inch bigger both ways than the 12k. Seems awkward, but that's what the website says....

My ceiling height is 162" also and Im going to be pushing it with the OH12S (short version) for height at the 155" setting. You need a few extra inches MORE to tip the columns up when you are installing than the installed height of the lift, plus you need to be able to get between the top of the lift and the ceiling to run cables, hoses, etc. My OHX10X is 151-1/2 to the top of the column and it is about 2 inches away from the light hanging in my shop-of course that will vary depending on your light fixtures. Can always move a light if need be.

How much extra room you will need to tip the column up I cant say, but the Amgo at 157 inches is going to be pretty close. If it fits it ships though!

Im just under 6'2" and I do have to duck under my arms when they are all the way up. Take about two-three inches off of the max lifting height without adapters because that is where the bottom of the lift arms will actually be. They are usually measuring to the top of the lifting pads instead of the bottom of the arms. I have to duck under mine but it really isn't that bad....more like lean my head to the side to avoid smacking it.

Very helpful. Thanks for the reply charbar. I have ~36x48 finished space with (1) 10x10 and (1) 12x12 door on the shorter side. The larger door has least amount of wiggle room on one side if lift centered to door. I was thinking i would install lift (just 1 for now) centered in the big door at rear of shop to keep front space somewhat open for other activities. I may rethink this and swap to smaller door side for more room to work..

I appreciate your findings on the base plates.

I realize the 157" Amgo would be very close to tip up, maybe even not doable? We're at ~5" of tip-up room. Bottom of lights in the way are at 157" exactly. Open to changing or moving them.

On the same page as far as lifting height. 10H actual lift height at min is 78.5" which is impressive vs 72.5 for the OH-12S. However, i doubt this number will matter much when lifting a large vehicle as we're out of ceiling room. For cars, the higher height would be nice for my tall ***.

I do use lifts at work regularly and have found the 12k rotary (with 14'+ ceilings) has been about the best for the work I do, lately about 1/2 on pickups. I've used a 10k for heavier trucks and typically prefer 12k. Zero experience with these lifts. I've never installed a lift and this would be my first home gamer unit.

Shipping question: You answered it. I called Best Buy Auto Equipment and Friday and didn't get an answer, not surprised. Its looking like the ship to freight terminal option for me and pickup with trailer. I don't own anything to safely unload a truck at home.

Im really not sure how much extra room you will need. Maybe someone from AMGO could answer that question if you could find a phone number. BUT since the columns are a two piece design where it looks like the upper portion slides up and down on the base column you might be able to just slide the top piece on the lower part a ways, sit the column up straight, and then slide the upper part up to the desired height.

I agree the 78.5" lifting height is nice, but yes you might hit the shutoff bar before you get that high with a pickup. Hard telling. Cars and small SUVS would be great though.

I just bought the Olympic 2PBPXW-10, which is a baseplate 10,000# Extra Wide 2 post lift.

1701126770621.png

It was delivered last Wednesday and I will be installing it soon. I paid $3852 for mine, shipped to my house. That includes the truck adapters and heavy-duty frame cradles.

I hadn't run across the AMGO lifts while doing my research, but I like the one you got and they seem priced right.

AMGO does make a 10,000# baseplate model with a single point lock release and extras like the truck extenders, and it seems like their shipping is reasonable. At least according to information posted by others online. With the heavy-duty frame cradles, it is $3,642 plus shipping, which is not listed in the cart, but I suspect it'll be more than $210. With tax that means that the AMGO will be a couple hundred more expensive than the Olympic, for what appears to be a very comparable lift; though the Olympic does have an upgraded pump with steel fluid reservoir, instead of plastic.

I'd have preferred a clear-floor lift like yours but the ceiling in my shop is a bit too low for that, so I got the baseplate model. After it is installed I may cut out three trusses over that bay so I can raise vehicles all the way up, but for now I am avoiding that surgery to my shop building.

When I was a kid, my dad would have LOVED a lift like this, but it was simply unheard of for a regular Joe to have this kind of equipment in his "Shade-Tree" garage.

We truly do live in a golden age where regular people can afford extraordinary tools.

Guess I didn't update this thread with details on my Amgo OHX-10X. While I don't have anything to compare it too, I love it so far and it works great. I'm really glad I got the extra lifting height as I'm a little over 6'4" so having the extra headroom is great. My building has 13' side walls and a 1:12 pitch inside ceiling so I had just enough room for the lift. I had the lift delivered and installed, it took 3 guys that know what they were doing close to 9 hours to get it installed so I was glad I paid to have that done for me.

After much debate, I ended up pulling the trigger on the OH-12S. Shipping is a bit of a deal killer at $790 to a somewhat nearby freight terminal in MN. I like the wider width, 3 stage arms, and beefier columns. I'm 6'5" and may have regrets working under a car when I hit my head. I appreciate your replies (everyone's) and maybe we can swap info when installing? A review on another website said quality good but directions terrible 😆

I about shat also when they called me with the shipping quote ($810 to my place). Mine is coming out of MN, Im in Nebraska. $4500 all in for a decent 12K lift is pretty fair in this day and age though...Probably would have been about 1500 less a few years ago.

You have 3 inches over me so that could be an issue.....my 10K that lifts to 72.5 or whatever is basically perfect for me when it is sitting on the top locks. I've never smashed my head on a pickup frame rail...just the lift arms when not paying attention. But if you are working with a lift all the time you know all about that.....same with the instructions that come with them. They are all sh!t but you will figure it out easy since you're around a lift most days.

Only thing Im going to change on this install is I am not screwing with the concrete anchors and Im going straight for ready rod and epoxy. I have one other lift that needs to be swapped from anchors to epoxy at the same time and then Im done

Yes, I agree that $4500 is pretty competitive in this day and age. I've been shopping around for a bit, was considering used but nothing too feasible locally. See mostly shorter 7-9k lifts, with a lot of miles on and rusty for $2k. Anyways crazy yours is supposedly coming out of MN! (not NM?) I believe this one is coming from CA. Yeah, I'm sure I can figure out assembly. Will need to add a circuit AND hope concrete is sufficient... Leaning towards epoxy anchors also. Have too many other projects, I bet yours is up before I get done!

Yes, Minnesota is what they told me. I ordered mine through Best Buy Automotive, based out of California it appears.

I was told 2 or 3 times that it would be $810 to ship it but I received an email with a receipt for $680 to ship it.....credit card statement confirms this as well. Not sure what is going on there, but I'm not complaining.

Can you get a sheet of paper between your ceiling and the lift? Man that is close, awesome that it fit though.

Damn your post is close to the wall. Do you actually have enough room to bend over to pickup a wheel without twisting your body?
