Words and terms change meaning over time.
Traditionally, snuff was a dry powder that was snorted up the nose.
Then people started chewing the end of a small stick, to dip it in the dry snuff and chew it until it was gone. Birth of the term Chew
Today, Chew and snuff have become commingled, and refer to the rounds of moist, chemical laden Tobacco sold at 7-11 and other fine establishments.
If you haven’t tried snorting some snuff(the dry stuff), I highly recommend it.
