Hello folks, I’m from eastern Ontario, I’m looking to start doing minor repairs for our vehicles in the household, I got charged near 1000.00 a year or so back for rear brake job on 2016 Ram and it always blows me away anytime vehicles go to shop for repairs, so I’m just looking to learn how to do minor repairs such as brakes, wheel bearings, struts, etc. I have a little bit of experience turning a wrench but no mechanic for sure. I’ve worked on 600 skidoo’s a bit, 2 new top ends, mag flywheel, stator and old 2 stroke seadoo’s a bit. Just wondering if this is the right forum for help with automotive type repairs?

Welcome Aboard, you will find some help here. For more detailed information you might look for a Forum that is focused on your specific make of automobile.

Sometimes I think of this Forum as a Stew, where there is a little bit of a lot of ingredients and you can pick and choose what yo want to put your fork into.

For specific questions about my Volvo, I would look for a Volvo enthusiast's group. You are Welcome here, we seem to be a General Interest group with tidbits of information about what we find most interesting.

Welcome to the GJ, I try to allow ample of time when doing vehicle repair work and have a spare vehicle if possible.
Thank you, me as well. We have been getting along without this Mazda 2 for about 6 months now as I couldn’t bring myself to take it to the garage knowing it would probably be in the 3000.00 range for repairs.
