And my kids say that I’m not funny….anyone got a better caption?

I was at Ephesus in southern Turkey. The Romans used dug trenches, lined them with clay and used soap to slide the marble pillars of the temple from the barges up the hill. At the provincial legislative building in Winnipeg, two bronze bison were slid into place by pouring water on the floors and letting it freeze. Clever!

When I moved my 8x12 shed from my buddies yard to mine, I built a skid on the trailer so that it would clear the fenders. When it was time to unload it, I greased the skid with Crisco, tilted the trailer up, gave it a nudge and it slid right off. Worked great!

Coming off of the skid.

I think that I tied the whole thing to a tree and pulled the trailer out from under the skid and shed and then pulled the skid out from under the shed so that there was less unsupported structure of the shed bridging the distance form the high point to the low point.
