Well, big tool day for me. I always save up my Amazon credit card points for 6+ months, and then blow them all on some guilt free tools. Here is this cycle’s haul. The Astro work lights I posted about a few days ago were also a part of this.

Knipex set of snap ring pliers. So over dealing with cheap sets of these. Hoping these have me covered now!

IMG_4400.jpeg

I have a 5 lb “silver *******” but it’s often overkill for the small stuff. Got this 2.5 lb Astro slide hammer for those occasions.

IMG_4401.jpeg

IMG_4402.jpeg

Gearwrench sensor socket set

IMG_4409.jpeg

And I got tired of never having the right puller to use and/or renting from the parts stores when the need arises.

Powerbuilt power steering and alternator pulley puller

IMG_4404.jpeg

OEM 3 jaw harmonic balancer pulley puller for non threaded hole pulleys

IMG_4405.jpeg

IMG_4406.jpeg

ARES threaded pulley puller

IMG_4407.jpeg

IMG_4408.jpeg

Got more more tool as a part of this sweep too, but it won’t arrive until after Christmas.

Replaced my battery two weeks ago. Now I have a jump starter. No more getting stranded in the garage. 😂
Good reviews on this unit. Supposed to hold charge for 18 months. 😳

On the Astro slide hammer do they give you a breakdown and is the joint between the pliers and slide hammer available as a replacement?
I could use that for one of my slide hammers it it would fit, I really don't need another one, lol.
Thanks.

Astro 78354 3/8 drive pinless universal Torque Saver impact Extension socket set metric, no skip 10-19mm.
Each socket/extension is approx 8 5/8 in length, The set is quite heavy. Nice case. High vis gold size and part number. nothing stamped. well oiled in the case. astro says their unique shaft design provides 30% more torque at max angle and 20% when used inline compared to similar length universal extensions. I'll take them to the shop and see what's what.

What are those pliers? They look like Vampires but green?

That is a Neji-saurus RX (PZ-59) by Engineer. The Vampliers are a US company that re-brands Engineer pliers. Engineer started in 1948.

Swung by a different Harbor Freight today, asked an employee to check in the back for the PSRP-10 pistol grip pliers. a few minutes later, he emerged holding a set. I thanked him profusely and wished him a Merry Christmas!!! He replied that providing him the SKU59805 made finding them a breeze. These pliers have unique jaws similar to Knipex twin grip or Vampliers for gripping damaged screws.
I also picked up a Quinn 1/4 comfort grip 90 tooth ratchet and an adjustable scraper. I was able to use the 10% off everything in the store coupon for the ICON pliers, and the 20% off all Quinn tools coupon for the ratchet & scraper.
Fed, how is the Quinn ratchet? Is it a clone of any other known ratchets? Pliers look good. Appreciate the feedback.

I feel the Quinn ratchet is exceptionally nice for $15.99 on sale. It's normally $19.99 but, all Quinn tools are 20% off through 12/24/23. I think it's a clone of the Gearwrench 90 tooth comfort grip ratchet. The gear covers are even shaped the same. The Quinn comfort grip handle is slightly larger the Gearwrench handle. The Quinn ratchet is made in Taiwan.

I'm honored to be your first message since 2019. You lurker, you!
I promise that I haven’t been lurking since 2019! I’m back after a brief hiatus. I’m no mechanic and barely a competent DIYer, but I do collect and appreciate quality tools, particularly those made in my home area of Western NY (e.g., Crescent) and Western PA (e.g., ChannelLock). I enjoy seeing people’s current additions!

Yes it is my first try and it wore me out to get it that far, will try again when its warmer than 50 degrees in the garage. Pop said it was good enough for him, being 95 we did not want to turn it in on his insurance. He was sideswiped in parking lot while eating lunch.

Weird coincidence, I was hit last week, parked and waiting for my son to come out of drum lessons (he was only 2 minutes from being done).

Why NOT turn it in? If he was parked, it's not his fault (unless he was parked illegally, I guess, but even that's a stretch).

I asked Mrs Claus for a few tools found in this thread recently (THANKS GUYS!), hopefully she comes through...

I still let my father make his own decisions, he said I don't want it turned in at my age (95). I don't want to be cancelled, can you do anything with it and I said "yes sir".

Well , these aren't new arrivals but rather what I managed to fit into my check in luggage and keep to weight restrictions when moving from SA to USA
More will come back with me on my trip to visit home next year

- 2 x Gedore 1/2 sets , the larger one is a combination of SAE and Metric , Made in South Africa , Gedore have a few manufacturing plants around the world. Their Gedore red range is however disappointing.
- Ampro 3/8 metric set ,bought this in 2010/2011 and it has surpassed my expectations and has worked hard.
-Fixman 1/2 6 point set , made in China and the ratchet fell apart. Sockets however , exceed the quality of the Husky sockets in tge 290 pc set I bought when I arrived here.
- My dad's old riveter
-GS 1/2 inch torque wrench

These are my actual new arrivals.
I will be brining in my some of my Bosch power tools , Gedore spanners/wrenches and a few other things from South Africa , Some of this is to tide me over until then, some of it is what I now have as a replacement to what I left behind as some things I just can't bring over.

-$12 Klein meter
-$12 crimping tool set with wire stippers
-Deep sockets from ebay
-$12 trim removal kit
-$12 Astro AI meter
-Bosch screw driver
-HF ratchet spanners
-HF $5 Wrenches close many gaps in the set I got with the 290pc husky set
-Cheapie Amazon wire cutters
-$12 crimping tool
-Husky hammer and prybar made in Vietnam
-Husky water pump wrench
-Husky adjustable wrench , set of 3 although only one in Pic
-$20 amazon drill
-$20 Amazon jigsaw
-Husky screw driver set
-And then there is the Husky 290pc set.
Looks like there was zero quality control here , they're all different as if some weren't cast properly and some were removed while still too hot, sagged and chrome was apllied. Some fit the ratchet tightly, some loosely and one doesn't lock into place at all. The ratchets and wrenches don't seem awful. So I feel that the $169 deal price is more fair value than a deal price here. The box doesn't seem to be adequate to handle the weight it's tasked with handling. I was a little disappointed when I opened this up.
The $12 stuff was bought from a store that sells Amazon returns for $12 in NY.
