For whatever reason I, on occasion, find one of our Lift Master garage doors open. I don’t believe it’s an issue with the wall mount controller. I think I or someone in the house just leaves it open. I am looking for a sensor that will send a notification via WiFi to my phone after the doors been left open for over an hour or so. Any ideas?

I wish the Craftsman one we had was still available. Nothing 'smart' about it. The sensor got stuck to the top of the garage door. The receiver sat on a dresser in our bedroom. If the door was left open, the LED on the sensor would light up red. I'd glance at the receiver when I walked into the room at the end of the night to make sure the garage was closed. Sadly, I can't find anything that simple anymore.

I see a lot of the door/window open/close alarms, but none of them say whether the LED stays on as long as the door is open or not.

The My Q also has a shut the doors automatically at a certain time option. We have them set to shut in the early evening if somebody leaves them open accidentally. Wish we had that option when our kids were teenagers.

I know not the original question, but it is a nice feature.

I’ll be damned if it doesn’t. THANK YOU
You can set automatic closing times also. I tend to leave it open sometimes, so I set an auto close for 730am when I leave for work also one at 8pm and one at 11pm just in case. MyQ is awesome.

I had an interesting problem with my guardian 928 (Menards masterforce). Since I had solar installed they installed a wifi antenna and I could get wifi in my shed. Well, I thought I would be able to get the wifi hooked up to my opener and monitor it. Well, I couldn't get it to load and I finally gave up on it. Well, I was vacuuming out my Maverick the other day and the door automatically closed after 15 minutes or so. WTF! Well, I researched and researched online and the only thing I came up with is the app on phone was causing it. I removed the app and it still happened. Finally, called them and they suggested removing the wifi module. Ok, so I went and thought I'd give it one more time. I downloaded the app again and it actuallly was able to connect and get hooked up. There is a setting that controls the timing of automatic closure. You can disable it or run I believe up to 90 minutes. I didn't want it to come down without my commanding it. Could have dented my Maverick! I can monitor it now to see whether it's closed or open.

Yes... But I'm not a huge fan of MyQ on android. My main complaint is that I can't get it to reliably close without having to restart the app (android). 3.6 Stars makes it kinda "meh":

The only problem I have had is a connection related issue. I have an android as well, and when I leave, my phone stays connected to my house wifi connection until I get down the street. It won't always process my close though even in the driveway, unless I turn my wifi connection off. As soon as I go to data connection, it works great.

That may be it. The "garage door" that this is one is actually my office door and I approach it from the "back yard", transitioning through different wifi / 5G zones.
