Your box turned out great!! The green drawer liners are a nice touch of class. I envy the vastness of your array of tools. Be proud of your work!!

Nah, skip the handle.
Just put a hitch ball coupler and a receiver mounted on the front and back of your chair!

My late Uncle, whose tools I inherited, had 3 large toolboxes, very similar to yours. I believe he had told me that he had them custom made to his specs and that they cost around $1500 each.

I'm very impressed with yours and hope they serve you well.

Mrholeshot, it looks good. The socket and hammer drawer seem to have a good bit of weight in them, how are the 100 lb slides working out in that department.
Are you taking orders? and how much ? And most importantly, is Boots satisfied?
Cheers to you, and your boys for giving you a hand at a job well done. Watch out, the wife may want new kitchen cabinets after seeing your skill in the carpentry dept.

Each drawer is rated at 200lbs. The bottom large drawer where my 3/4 stuff is will go to 400lbs. The drawers pull in and out with one finger. I'm very impressed with slides

For an hf lover I dont see many hf tools

There are a few HF ratchets in there but when I imagine I'll have to remove them when I dig out my Snap-On 1/2 drive. They are in a box with my DeWalt stuff. I think a few of my boxes wound up in the loft.

Nice job, nice tools. You will enjoy using an attractive, well built box, but also you will enjoy having your tools at one accessable place.

This is just ridiculous.

Does the stain protect against oil and grease stains?

mrholeshot, you really need to do something about that socket/ratchet drawer lol. Looks like you need one drawer for sockets, one for ratchets.

Thanks!

2. Chipping hammer. It bust the slag off of welds when using and Arc welder. My other is getting old thats a new spare I bought and only found when going through my stuff.

3. The only wood thing Ive ever built was a deck on the back of my house. Ive never built any kind of cabinet. I did put up a peice of molding once. My advantage here is I have several sons who work in constuction and one who does custom work such as custom cabinets. If I needed and answer he was as close as the phone. When it came to stucture he was able to email me drawings of how things should go for the best strength. One of my sons did make a few of the long cuts for me when he saw me cutting a sheet of plywood with the saw going across my lap. He basicly threatened to kick me and my wheelchair over if he saw me doing that again, lol. I cut the legs down 3 inches on my table saw so I could make those cuts. Basicly I really needed a project I could sit back and look at and say "I built that". The great thing is I can access every drawer from my wheelchair. I do have to pull myself up to get at the top compartment. It just wasn't as hard a build as I first thought it would be. It did cost more than I thought it would. It has over 120 dollars in just knobs on the front. The drawer slides didn't come cheap either but the payoff is a fully loaded drawer will open and close with one finger.

I still have a box of sockets and ratchets left. I'm going to build a side box next month to open up a drawer for ratchets. Today I'm starting to build a side handle for the box. I hope it's as cool as I think it will be.

You should take an old wrench, and drill 2 holes in it and make it a handle!!!

And watch, you'll have that side box done in a week lol

The wrench idea is already what I had in mind. I will be using a new one and you won't be able to see the bolts. The sidebox will have to wait a few weeks, It's still on the drawing board.

Here is my new pull handle. It will have a wood strip down the length of the wrench to cover the "Pittsburg" It has two 13/16 deep well sockets with bolts welded inside and the wrench welded from the bottom.I still need to clean up my welds and clear coat the welds. Works great. Whacha think?
