Has anyone seen a Kennedy box like this one?

I have searched the interweb, tool sites and image searches with no luck. the closest thing i found was a small box
that used the same "bar lock" system (a vertical bar that runs through the handles and a kind of hasp at top for a padlock)
unfortunately there is no # on the decal. any ideas or guesses are welcome! :)

Mister Pete of You Tube fame and fortune just posted an interesting video on Kennedy boxes. I used to buy and sell toolboxes. I have had a few Kennedy boxes. I think their colour choice makes them really ugly. I bought one Kennedy box for $40 and sold it on y way home for$250.
Beach, Canada made many boxes for Kennedy. I have, for my amusement, exchanged drawers between the two brand names. They fit.

Out of curiosity, where did you find that beach made kennedy boxes? Or is that just an assumption on your part.

As much as I love almost all things vintage tool and machine shop, I have to agree!
I don’t give Kennedy a second glance, not even for a flipping possibility.
Brought home a nice Proto machinists chest in Kennedy colors several years ago…..and it sits empty in the loft, too ugly to put tools in. 🤓🤓

Personally, I find Kennedy boxes to be attractive and extremely well made. I have quite a few.

Thank you! that 285 is as close as i've seen, with the only difference
being the side handles and the locking method. i was looking through
the internet archive as well but never saw the 285. i need to explore the
archive more! thanks again

My dad says "There's an *** for every seat"
Once I was postulating to my late Grandma that a certain set of very unattractive cousins would never find romance. Her response “There’s a lid for every pot” 😊😊😊
She was right.
There is an *** for every pot???? :)

I have bought a couple of kennedy Boxes that are presently sitting empty. I really do not see the allure in them. The one originally posted with the locking bar is one I have never seen before.

Here is a similar box with the hasp lock.

I have the 285 like Don showed first and second, guessing post 1958 or so, so I would put yours as a bit newer.

It weighs 85#. I know I would not be lifting it without side handles. It's gonna be a bear to place where I want it, will need two people to get it up to the height required.

WOW! Thanks! You are a wealth of information! that helps a lot
now I know about the drawer pulls. nickel plate (which has all worn off)
That's going to be a tough fix. i can do the re-plate but the knobs are like
riveted to the drawer face. Thank you SO much!

PSA:
The Kennedy friction slides work just great if you clean off all the old grease and lube them with paraffin wax (apply by rubbing). It does not attract dirt and grit like grease. Snap on recommended this for their drawer slides.

I just did this for a Kennedy tool box at work and it made all the difference, especially for more heavily loaded drawers.

Well she might be ugly but boy is she stacked.
She’d look alright in a red dress!

I’ve got one of those old school carpenters boxes, you know the kind with the little hole cut in the lid for your square to stick out. It’s Proto but it’s in Kennedy brown. For THAT purpose and use, the brown seems okay. At least not jarringly out of place, like it is in a garage 😛

I’ve had a couple Kennedy Cantilever boxes, gave the last one to my neighbor as a mate to his other one. Then I found this one… This is the nicest cabinet I’ve ever put tools in. I love this thing and am interested in buying everyIMG_3354.jpeg one like it I can find. IMG_3385.jpeg
