Craftsman Sharpening Attachment For Bench Saws Micrometer Adjustment Cast Iron!!
I recently got one of these things as a "box and contents" lot at a moving sale!
I at 1st. "bit my tongue" B/C I thought it "was the kind"! that goes on a Craftsman block grinder. (Well probably any bench grinder!)
But actually it goes on a table-saw!
I had never seen one of these things before!
Are they worth having at all!
Grinding dust can't be good for the T/S's bearings though!
Anyways, link to one O them on "Epay" ATM!
(0r, maybe I could re-purpose it for something!)

The big thing in my mind is, "Is rigidity going to be an issue"?
This is key! RIGIDITY! Is key in this type of operation!
OK! what it is is, I have a little table-saw just going to waste down there in a corner.
Maybe, if these things possess the rigidity required for this type of operation, I could dedicate the little table-saw as a permanent "sharpening station" (The table-saw top could then be used as a "surface-plate" to attach a piece of glass for final honing, all the way up to 0000 polishing paper!)
(0000 polishing-paper produces a "mirror-like" finish on cutting tools!)
(may even then go to a few swipes on a leather hone!}

A long time ago, when I had less money and more time and ambition, I made a jig similar to this. However, instead of using it on a table saw, I chucked a stone in a drill press and used it there. It did a good job of sharpening my jointer and planer knives. Eventually, I just bought a planer blade wet sharpener to use instead.

Those terrify me for sharpening your TSaw blades. Last one I saw, it had stone mounted overhead and sliding. Not sure how big a blade you can put in there in it place. The side to side sliding seems unnatural to my sharpening skills.

If you set it loose enough to slide in the t slot, not sure how rigid it will stay for square.

You should use more exclamation points. They really help get the point across. :ROFLMAO::bounce:
