Hey guys. I need to have some jaws machined for my columbian 6” vises and don’t have the old jaws. Does anyone know the exact dimensions for the 506/606 T shaped jaws? TIA

Thanks for your reply. I have both vises but I don’t have the jaws for neither. I trusted a machinist and sent them to him to have a new set fabricated and one set cleaned up. I have a new machinist to make the jaws but now need the actual size. I haven’t been able to find it online as yet.

So the original machinist kept your jaws and isn't cooperating? That *****. Probably tough to find those exact dimensions online. Hopefully someone here has the same models and can take some measurements for you, good luck!

That’s pretty much where I’m at and hoping someone here has the jaws to measure.

I would just as soon use the vise you have in your possession to get measurements for new jaws rather than an old set of jaws someone else measured.....but maybe that's just me.

Columbian Tee style jaws are designed at nominal dimensions. I’m sure keeping the Tee dimension a little undersize like I did on the 205 drawing will work if you can’t measure your vise yourself. A set of dial calipers is all you need. Assemble the jaws and drill and ream the pin holes in your drill press or find someone with one big enough. You will not have good luck depending on the jaw maker getting the holes in the right spot, miss by a .001 and the pin will sheer.

I’ll send this info to the machinist and see what he can do with it. I’ll also make some measurements to compare. Gratitude
