Funny, it gets you there either way it's spel-led.

Harbour is more the Commonwealth version of the word. Kinda like catalogue, aluminium, shoppe, etc.

Yeah. Canada is a bit of an oddity in this regard; we spell most things in the Commonwealth (world, really; only the USA spells things differently) way, but we would never use "shoppe" unless it was a themed-type store like "Ye Olde Sweets Shoppe" or some such thing. We also say "tire", not "tyre" and other examples I'm too tired to think of right now!

what's the difference between Canadian Tire and Princess Auto?

Is it like Northern Tools vs. Harbor Freight?

Pretty much, all they sell there is asian **** too. Its just over priced and in a fancy package. How ever they do sell channellocks and American made squares and levels.

They also sell ammo at high prices too.

I own a lot of good useful tools that I purchased at Harbor Freight. Anyone who thinks they only sell **** is ignorant of what can be purchased there.

Canadian Tire is sort of a mixture of things - it's like taking a hardware store (minus the lumber), adding an auto parts store, the tool section out of Sears, and add sections for sporting goods, housewares, and garden supplies, plus auto repair shop and putting it all in one. Like most retailers, a lot of their stuff is aimed very much at the consumer market.

Princess Auto is a little more like what Harbor Freight would be, perhaps with a little bit more of a farm supply angle to it (perhaps Tractor Supply would be a better analogy).

I used to live in a place that had Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Northern Tools, ACE, Sears all within like 15 miles. It was heaven

Yeah but it does not show harbour as miss spelled

Ive never been to a chicom **** tool freight store before so could I know which way they spell it??

Anyways

Bottom line its a proper name, which means there really is only one spelling that is correct if you are referring to that entity. Sorta like talking about someone named Bryan but typing Brian. Both are correct spellings but only one is correct for that person.

Carry on with the China/Taiwan is good enough/all i can afford vs its evil and ruining America/Canada "debate".
