I had another decent day at the Collage Flea today. I did pass on 2 late model 220's (5-66 and 8/68) and there is a story with the second one.
Before we get to today, I did hit a YS yesterday and spent a buck, on a Stanley line level, and a refrigerator/freezer Thermometer (Plastic container wit blue caps) , the rest was free The Dream-catcher, is for my artistic daughter; grout tool and caulk tube cap, and the Mag-light "solitaire" flashlight - the 10 year expired battery was still good! But I replaced. This one will go on a "badge retractor" and replace a chi-com LED that is there now and is clipped to my hunting suspenders. handy to have a small flashlight not stuffed in a pocket.
But some interesting tools kicked it off today, plus some other assorted items:
A Tru-fit DOE, Lakeside Combo, Lectrolite and 3 McKaig Hatch DBE's, 10 oz. Craftsman ball peen, a Plvmb punch, Made in West Germany Needle nose, and while I'm trying to not buy slip joints, the Bonneys were small and cute, and the D/C Duluth were a new, never seen brand. All with very nice grip knurling.
The 3 McKaig Hatch DBE's are now a "collection" according to the Curator at the Lugzonian! I had 2 DOE's but not a collection...
Same stall - a Universal drafting machine. I've been on the watch for a small one like this for a long time! Came with the scales, so that was a nice add, and well worth the $10 asking - $20 all told tools and drafting machine.
Two Edlund Co. "Top Off" jar'cap openers, Patent was granted in 1933, so likely pre-war; Bent tip Tweezers are Singer, Hinge **** marker is Stanley, the Hollow handle driver is made in Japan, I have not found a makers mark. The 10V - 14V - 24V Power supply is GE and patented in March of 1919 110V input. I'll need to do some careful continuity checks and replace the cord. - I'll want cloth cord for that one... A wood Pestal, and an odd brass threaded and knurled piece, a "dove" made from a stone, and (
@jeffmoss26 alert!) that key head has a female square drive - likely for a clock key? It has a set screw, so was this an attempt as an "emergency key? $20 all
The Clause scissors were $2, and the lantern safe was on the 68 220 mentioned above. priced at $5, the globe was cracked and snot glued for use. I paid him the $5 and told him he could re-sell the lantern, I was booked on those.
The Mantle safe came with instruction book, pamphlet listing authorized Coleman service stations, a package of silkies from K-mart, a spare generator from the same source, and a Coleman wrench. Gasket is good! I think any piece in or on the safe was likely worth $5!
Post the Flea was a TOO YS - a box of Pinewood Derby pieces with 2 un-built cars, tires for 3-4 cars, weights, decals, graphite and a 65th anniversary patch from 2018, and more - I bought it for $5 for a set of the wheels for the one I made in Cub scouts as those wheels crumbled. not period correct, but they will do for now...
