I stumbled across this a few days ago and can confirm its accuracy.

For whatever reason Toyota is selling H4 upgrade kits for the 7" glass bulb in a kit for around $20.

This is a made in Japan kit with quality parts, the part number includes two retrofit bulbs (glass) and a wiring (relay) kit, zip ties, dielectric grease and a letter of apology.

The part number is: 8111060P70.

I walked into my local toyota dealer parts depo, gave them that number and they handed me the kit one day later. It cost me $24.45. Reports online have varying prices but some as low as $18. A regular glass 6024 runs about $20 for one bulb now, this kit is not only nice but quite a bargain. I was not charged shipping. I see similar retrofit bulb's around $50 ea. when not on sale

here are some links you can follow to see the whole kit with pictures etc. :

Such a great deal I bought 2 pair and I don't even have a need for them 🙃 . I updated some ancient Euro-only spec H4 assemblies with Holley/Morimoto Retrobright LEDs last fall in my Series LR (major PITA) and did a swap in my C10 (10 minute job). My only other hooptey uses 5-1/2 9005/9006 bulbs. I'm sure I have a spot on the shelf for these to properly collect dust.

You can't hardly buy an h4 relay harness that cheap.

Thanks for sharing

Even I had to buy a set. I have an incandescent set that I wasn't really planning on replacing but it's hard to argue with a price like that.

If it comes with all that's claimed they have to be losing money on them 🤷

Ordered two sets. I have been wanting to upgrade my CJ5, and I want to build another CJ so I will have a spare set on the shelf. Thanks!

Thanks, I think, for sharing.
Welp, just saved another $96.15 Today.
The status of your order has changed and we wanted to keep you up to date:

Thank you for placing an order with us. After placing the order with Toyota, Toyota notified us that this part number has now gone on backorder. There is no estimated time of release. Please give us a call at (855) 411-7278 and reference order number 14185374 if you would like to keep this order open or if you would rather cancel and get your money back.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
Chris

My order came back as Backordered and I replied to cancel the order. Maybe buying 5 sets was a red flag? Hope the orders of others do show up.

Don't worry, I'm sure they will be on Ebay compliments of the Slickdeals bottom feeders type that use GJ for this stuff. They won't be as cheap however......
Scalpers already have them on ebay. Actually reasonably priced on the lights. Shipping costs, not so much... Seen $50 to $125 in shipping charges alone for the $18 set of lights.

Made a call to local dealer and got some insight. Orders 2 sets and Fingers Crossed🤞

I saw that after I posted! Hopefully the market floods and all the low lifes have no buyers!

Other than the harness, this may be the most useless thing Ive ever ordered. Not sure I'll ever need 7" round LED headlights, but I ordered a set....

Man why do I keep seeing these good buys. Now the only issue are these for LHD or RHD? Being Toyota never sold LHD H4 equipped cars.

I used to be able to grab these all the time back in the day when I lived in Germany. But don't have an E28 or a car that needs a set but one never knows.

Friday I picked up my pair of $24 headlights from the local Toyota dealer. This kit comes with the wiring harness and relays. Is this new wiring and relays required to run these lights? It seems I should be able to plug into my present wiring harness plug. LEDs should draw less wattage than the incandescent now in there, I would think.

If the connectors are the same I wouldn't be concerned about the wiring, you may need to add a flyback diode to keep them from flickering if it's an older vehicle. But as far as the size of the wire goes, you are correct LEDs shouldn't cause any issues.

I’m pretty sure these are halogen bulbs, so they will draw a significant amount of current over the stock bulbs these were made to replace. That’s why the have relays with them.

If anybody want to sell theirs, hit me up! Need some for my MG.

Anyone have a picture of the actual Lense on this light. Hopefully it looks period correct for the muscle car era.

Unfortunately they are flat and not dome shaped like the original lights. I may still run them anyway if they make a huge difference.

Now, to figure out what to actually do with them.
Such a great deal I bought 2 pair and I don't even have a need for them 🙃 .

Received my order last night... 23 days. I purchased from Toyota South Atlanta link posted by @WildBill. After seeing no movement on my order status I contacted them by email on 3 occasions, and by phone once. Zero response to emails or voicemail. I was a couple of days away from initiating a PP chargeback when the lights showed up unannounced. So, yay... they're here. And, boo... Toyota South Atlanta communication responsiveness.

Now, to figure out what to actually do with them.

I can't get them to reply, cancel, answer the phone, or acknowledge I exist so hopefully will magically appear as well.

My dealer replied and said national backorder with an ETA of 17 May. Seemed like they wanted me to cancel, but I said no rush I'll wait. For $18.50 I'm not going to complain!

I bought two sets from my local dealer - I put one set in my Classic Mini, gave the other set to my buddy for his MG Midget. He bought two more sets for his classic Mini and GT6. The lens is flat, and it sticks out a bit further but they are high quality setups.

In my case I went one step further and bought some LED bulbs that are designed to fit into H4 housings and produce the correct focal length etc. That way I don't need the relay kit (which is also first class!) Now I can actually see at night in my classic cars!

My understanding is Toyota sells these (at a loss I'm pretty sure) as they no longer offer sealed beams for their Land Cruisers.

The way this info is spreading across the web-iverse - all the car forums have posted it I'm sure by now - I'm surprised there are any left for sale. My dealer had to pick them up at the local Toyota parts warehouse but I had them the next day.

I was in the same boat with Toyota south Atl. The order went stagnant so I sent two emails requesting updates with no response. A little while ago I received a shipping confirmation so hopefully the orders start going out for everyone still waiting.
