Sanding and more sanding. Discovered I should have put masking tape down to keep glue drops from landing on the resin. I had to sand the drops off. I still have some more sanding to do before I can glass the coaming.

I also noticed that I may need to coat some of the boat in thinned resin. It's getting thin in some spots where I had to sand the glue drips.

So, do you have to cut out some of those bulkheads and fabricate a cockpit/seat setup? 1 seat? 2 seats?

All of the framing structure gets removed. The deck and hull are not attached yet. Once I get the coaming glassed, the deck will be pulled off. Then the frame is pulled out so I can sand and glass the inside of the deck and hull.

It is a 2 seater. I plan on buying seats and not making them for this kayak.

Maybe this is a dumb question. Do you have to use some type of high heat primer on the headers? I'd think regular primer would be effected by the heat even though the VHT wouldn't?

Nothing. I have some sealing/varnishing to do, but it snowed this morning & it's still ******** freezing in the garage. Need to get a couple more coats of sealer on a 4x8 sheet of plywood & then apply some *proper* spar varnish.
Was hoping to have the project finished before Sunday.

Got to this point on my welding cart. All of it is scrap except the casters (the Grizzly casters!) and the box.
Nice! I did the same... kinda.
But I bought the welding cart and made upgrades to it. The $45 100lb rated cheapie Horrible Freight. Threw the M6 hardware in trash since the holes are M8 and used my own hdw from the hoard. Rear wheels are from the Grizzly casters and fronts are some from the hoard. Added a couple extra hooks and made the handle on front.
Likely would be rated higher if they just spent a few pennies more for decent hardware.

UPS brought a 3’hydraulic hose&fittings, so I was able to hook up the compressor to the existing piping. I was going to use some 3/4” air brake tubing, but it was too stiff for what I wanted. I left a lazy loop on the sealtite A.C. lines to the compressor so I could pull it out of the corner for service if needed. The hydraulic hose was perfect for my objective.

Cut shelving to size for the shelf standards I put up earlier (3/4 melamine) and started putting things back (while culling the ****).

The SW corner of the garage is shaping up- moving clockwise to the grinding bench…

Changed out the braided flex hose between the compressor and regulator for a Flexzilla hose. I kinked it moving the compressor around to install the spacers on the feet and wanted to make sure it doesn't blow out.

To continue with getting things off the floor, I welded up a bracket out of 1" square tube and 3/16" x 2" flat bar to hang sawhorses on the wall, then painted and installed with 1/4" x 3" lag screws.

While the paint was drying, I re-glued the weatherstripping on the bed topper for the F150.

I used VHT Flameproof Coating system; primer, color-Cast Iron, followed by Satin Clear.

Great Idea using the wheels! Can't beat those casters if you got in at the $3.25 price, even if you are taking them apart for the wheels 😂.

Still chasing an oil leak. Narrowed it down to under neath the turbo. Im in the process of pulling the turbo. Its a PIA. The oil feed line I scoped using my iPhone snake cam. No leaks on both upper and lower. Smoked a tomahawk last night for dinner.

Are the stories
Lot's of people have been complaining about the cheap ($50) Ford trailer brake controllers you can buy on certain auction sites instead of from a licensed Ford Dealer ($230). I bought one of each to take them apart. Honestly, I don't think the cheap one is actually made by Ford. Same P/N and revision #. No heat sinking, different boards... no wonder why it doesn't work.

Did a full YouTube video comparing these two and an off-branded one. It's crazy there are manufacturers out there creating copies of units..

Here is a $100 unit. Some have had alleged overheating issues and melting according to the reviews.....

Got my CList HFreight motorcycle dolly that I got a good deal on under my bike. Now I can roll it around out of the way. Also cut off metal where fenders used to be attached to a friends used MC trailer he just bought. Used a cut off disc in a grinder, sanded and painted the spots....turned out good for such a **** trailer.
