IMG_8294.jpegStubby wrenches. Needed one today working on dad’s semi truck. An individual at Northern Tool was $7 this set was $13.99. Cheaper just to get a set. I didn’t want to get one at Northern Tool anyway because their wrenches are pretty rough when it comes to quality. These are great. Dad bought them for the tool collection at home. I have some but when you park 20 miles away from your house it’s more convenient just to buy them instead of going back home. Hey I can’t complain that’s the second set of tools he has bought me in 2 days lol. Probably won’t use them much anyway since they are SAE. I already don’t use the SAE ones that are in my truck at the house.

Nice, @BlakeTheCarGuy!

I probably use SAE as much as metric. My tractors are 20+ years old, Craftsman / Husqvarna (AYP / Electrolux?). Like American cars seemed to be in the past, the engines are metric, the rest is SAE.

As an aside, I think your tribal name must be On Denim Knee, LOL...

I delayed the shipment of my spring hooks... I got two... despite reviews saying only ONE shipped. My Alliance Badge Arrived ... stamped 2024... I left the protective film in place ... at least until I decide where I am mounting it.

Saturday a warranty replacement for an old 749 that the chrome started bubbling on showed up, a new FN100. Sunday my socket trays from Amazon showed up and I re arranged the drawers on my 41” craftsman box to fit them in a top drawer. And today the TL72 showed up from a eBay impulse buy and the Mac EM720T to replace a 16 year old bluepoint that started having issues giving correct readings.

All the while he's mentioned a few times over that he's not making "TV money" anymore. I think I'd still rather his paycheck over mine, any day!

I'd say he has all the work he wants, and most of all, he loves his work! And is having a great time.

Last year he went to London, England, to the place where weights and measures were kept, and got to see the yard stick. I was disappointed he didn't bring one of his tape measures to check it.

VIM Tools is easily becoming my favorite tool company.
I saw this and grabbed it. It's not only flexible, but stays in place and the magnet is within the black aluminum end so it doesn't stick to everything while trying to grab what you dropped. Push the plunger down and the magnet pops out. Almost can't wait to drop something so I can use it.

Check out the Adam Savage version of getting organized!

This is a great video. I had never heard of the Sortimo cases before running across another Tested video about the Sortimo cases over a year ago. I splurged for 3 of them last Christmas. They may be the best small parts case I’ve ever had and used. But those Germans must be really proud of them, because they are dang expensive. A person would need to be earning TV money to be able to afford the quantity Adam Savage has in his shop.

Did he use the ruler tattoo on his arm?

Had an old pair of 57CP’s that I lost the bolt to and a broken bolt in some 44’s and warranted my old tapper too while I was at it. I miss having a truck guy and didn’t know you could warranty stuff online till recently so I’ve had some catching up to do 🤣. Although the new orange ***** over the old orange. And a guy on the truck would have let me get a set of 46’s that were closer to the size of the old 47’s where customer service wouldn’t, oh well.

IMG_8305.jpegNew Craftsman 21mm deep socket. I have a Husky at work and I ended up cracking it. Haven’t tried to warranty it yet but I don’t like having to constantly change socket from impact to torque wrench so I use this to put on my torque wrench in the morning and then I put it back in my box when it’s time to go home. I want to get a 6 point but haven’t made it back to Napa yet. Some days I don’t even take off wheels but I do it enough to where I like the setup I’m used too. I will be doing a real life review of some Craftsman Taiwan made tools this month and how they have held up in the industry. Just have to remember to bring them home for pictures one of these days lol.

I’m sooo disappointed in you Blake. I really thought that after the two previous purchases you finally rounded that corner of buying complete sets..

Even if you did try to cover your tracks with - “it was a deal”

😁

I should have lol. Craftsman is way overpriced though now. They cost more than the parts store for a set which is surprising considering I see the parts store prices as a need it now type thing even though I buy their tools anytime lol. Individuals also more. This was $11.83 with mom’s military discount.
