Not a ton "in" the shop today, but I did lots of walking to and from the shop. First really nice weekend we've had where it feels like the weather might actually steadily stay nice (wishful thinking, I know). Decided it was ok to start on the Spring De-Hibernation List.
First on the punch list, I got one of the hose outlets turned on to have water to fill the roller. Once the roller was filled up, I whipped around the front lawn and the blvd to get rid of the bumps, best I can anyway. There is one particularly bad spot that I think we are going to have to take a shovel to to transfer a mound into an adjacent hole, but that's a task for another day.
Once that was done, it was back on the trailer for the roller and the Deere, and towed it over to my sister's house to do her lawn. Everyone was gathering there for her birthday (which is technically next weekend), so it was a good transitional location for Dad to take the roller and mower home with him. I really would like to have the Deere at home, since I did spend the money on it, but storage space is tight and our lawn really isn't big enough to justify it living here. Plus I need the exercise.
Sunday, I got outside and decided to attempt to reorganize the small shed, and get the bikes hung on the wall. Upon completion, it's back to the drawing board for me, because the vision really was no match for the 10lbs of sh*t in an 8lb shed.
I intended to get snow tires swapped on the SportWagen, but I got lazy after the shed project, so we opted instead to install the cover onto the gazebo frame over where our patio set goes. This lead me to the bright idea to make up a pigtail that would allow us to hang the Bug zapper and potentially some additional lighting or small fan, and run it down to a switch on the frame then over to the exterior outlet of the house. In my usual fashion, I've opted to elect to over engineer something that was easily solved with a simple extension cord... I wanted the ability to switch the light/zapper on and off rather than unplug it, because, why not?
Back to Canadian Tire to use up more points. I got the mounting holes drilled and tapped in the switch box, but that's about as far as the project got today. We're hoping to get out to my sister's place tomorrow for the Eclipse, so Dad suggested we could wire up the pigtail there. He's got far more electrical background than I do, so I'm glad to have the watchful oversight.
