Double Box End Long Wrench W/O Offset Choices

I was looking for some long or extra long double box end wrenches in metric and was wondering what offerings were out there. So far all I have found are the following:

• Snap-On
• Nepros
• KTC
• Capri
• Deen (not sure if these are TW or Japan made)
• Daytona (I think these are a TW made house brand)
• Signet (I know nothing about these)
• SK11 (I know nothing about these)

Are there any others I'm missing? Seems like the KTC is the best bang for my buck at ~$75 for the set. Does anyone know much else about the SK11 or Signet ones? Are there any European brands offering these in 0 offset? Everything I've found from them has an offset.

Not sure if you want the second box end to be the same size, just fixed, or if you want both box ends to be ratcheting of a different size.

Personally, I'm in the market for a long 0-degree offset with both sides being the same size. So you can break with the fixed end and then flip over and ratchet with the other side.

Yeah but what if the fastener is deep down in a nook you can't fit a ratchet, and you can only fit an XL wrench in there, and you can only get a few degrees of turning the wrench at a time. Then you'll be stuck turning the fastener with the fixed end, twisting it hopefully at least 30 degrees, which is enough to get the next adjustment on the fixed end 12-point to fit, and then turning it in 30-degree adjustments over the course of 10 minutes when you could have broken it with the fixed end, switched to ratcheting and be done in 10 seconds.

Does such a buried fastener exist in the real world, or is it my tool buying addiction talking?

I think that KTC (ktc auto tools) wrench set are Taiwan made.
They look very similar to JTC (Taiwan brand).


KTC (Kyoto Tool) wrenches are Japan made.

I have the Genius, which are like the Capri and JTC above. A lot of people rebrand that Genius, Capri, etc set. I bought the Genius years ago because they were the first that I was aware of having it at that time. They are fine but have somewhat sharp edges on the beams, as shown in the pics.

I also have the Tone M05 which offers more sizes. Mine are older and marked Japan, but from what has been posted here about Tone, they may have actually been Taiwan, which is fine.

I have a select group of KTC. They're very high quality and the finish is unreal. I wish all my wrenches had that satin finish.

As mentioned in post #5 some KTC variants are generic Taiwan and you can buy same taiwan aviation style wrenches for close to half the KTC price
Only KTC worth having is the proper Japan made stuff, with the aviation wrenches that will be satin finished and quite visually different in beam forging over the generic polished and flat smooth beam Taiwan sets .
Main issue with the Taiwan sets tends be they bit too loose a fit which not a great match to the wrench length in terms of 12 point grip & 12 point slop creating large arc travel at end of long wrench before you start turning the fastener .

I’ve had the M160 wrenches in my drpd cart for awhile. Their website (which I trust highly) says Country of Origin is Japan.

It seems like it matches your COO Japan description above. Can you possibly verify by chance? If so I might pull the trigger finally.

Signet is nothing but a rebrander, most of their wrench range is Taiwan sourced at best .
KTC M160 range are nice design nicely made, main issue is limited size coverage .
For Taiwan made sets look at Hallmark 5pc or Welzh 8pc sets

EHIMEMACHINE is the store name. Ehime is the name of an area, and Machine is just a bad translation for either Machine, Factory, or something similar they are trying to convey.
They are on Yahoo Shopping Store as well.
I have bought successfully from EHIMEMACHINE on both Yahoo Shopping and Amazon Japan.

KTC Auto Tools and (Japan) KTC - Kyoto Tool Company have no relation to each other. They are completely separate companies.

Can confirm that M160 is Made in Japan (and super nice) as pictured. AFAIK, the only wrenches that KTC (Kyoto Tool Company) produces in Taiwan are the ratcheting ones that nobody seems to make in-house anymore and maybe some of the flex-head wrenches, but please don't quote me on that!

I have newly acquired set of Wurth double box, and unlike many of the above, they don't have 'duplicate' sizes on different wrenches, but a true no-skip, one of each size only set... i really don't know if these are made by Wurth directly or a OEM branded tawainese wrench, any others out there that are similar or nearly identical?
