Rearranged stuff to make room for a metal cabinet. Moved metal cabinet into garage, filled it.

Took the 1968 bus for a ride earlier today. NO reading on fuel gauge and I know it's Full. Scored some fuel for $2/gal so almost everything got filled.

Supposed to pull the engine and gas tank to get to fuel sender. Too old for that **** and need to take it somewhere Sat.
Made an access hole. Pretty damn good guess too, centered perfectly side to side. Kept hole away curve.


Cleaned and removed sender. 55yr old seal still good. Found the sender lost internal ground. Repaired and tested it.


Reinstalled and we have a working gauge again.



Now to finish up the oil change and its ready for the Summer road trips.

Finished printer mods and test printed an ASA part. I had to punch a hole for the fan exhaust in the back of the old enclosure.



The ASA part is on the left. The petg+ is on the right. That's 1/4" paracord for scale.

Not in the garage, but outside on the ground. Almost completely rewired my FIL's car hauler trailer. Everything is new from main connector to break away switch and wiring front to back. The passenger side brakes were not fully connected - now we can tow with some confidence, I hope. I did learn I'm too damn old to enjoy rolling around on my back on a creeper to do this!

I've been looking at the raptor liner for my old Ranger. How was it to work with? Have you used it before and does it hold up

It holds up well. It is very user friendly and easy to spray. I’ve sprayed quite a few truck beds and interiors of work trucks. You can spray it directly over scuffed paint

Need 4 or 5 brackets. Cut six 1.5in slices from a piece of 2x3x.24in aluminum angle. Not sure if I'll actually use more than three yet. But if I use five at least I have one "pre-production prototype" to **** up/get it right first.

Got a 3/4" sheet of melamine-coated particle board to fashion new surfaces for my big rolling work table, got it broke down to the needed sizes, then got busy embedding my new phenolic resin router mounting plate. More work left to embed some aluminum T-tracks for a new scratch-built router fence (and other things).
Got that and a few more things to do out there before I resume furniture building projects. Have a dining hutch upper cabinet, then a bar hutch that will be designed to conceal a 5cu' chest freezer. Trying to get both those completed before Memorial Day.

Got the fittings for the fuel filter yesterday, spent about one hour in the garage/shop installing them today & finished installing/hooking up the fuel lines.

I had some old kitchen upper cabinets in my shop that was left by the prior owner and they were junk. I pulled the junk ones down and got rid of them and scabbed in some siding I had. Not pretty but sure make it nicer

Added a webcam to the 3d printer.

Printer is currently working on another fitting for the kayak. This time in the actual 'dark purple' color that will hopefully match said kayak.

I don't quite trust it enough to load up the printer with a full print bed worth of parts just yet. Each part is taking about 45 minutes and I'm printing at least 12. Overall print time would be less if I loaded up the print bed, but that's OK. I have time.

Congrats on the addition.

How big is your current garage and how big is your addition?

If I decide to stay where I am I will have to consider the same approach. My 30’ x 30’ is nowhere near big enough and I may add the same size as an addition.

The current shop is 24x30. It has a work area on one side, and a garage bay on the other. It's a shop to repair stuff for the house, fix furniture, make stuff, and maintain equipment. So I have plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, and mechanic tools. It's a good size to heat, and not too many steps to get around.

The addition is 26x36. The dimensions are determined by what will attach to a 30' side of a garage, and how close to the property line I can get while still leaving room for a margin of error. That part is 3 bays, and will keep my stuff out of sight, under cover, and out of my shop.

Got a paid sleep day after a short week of nights.

so I promptly put it to good use. Took the base of my old wooden steel rack and cut it down so her potting bench is now mobile. Now I really need to put some sort of back stop to it. Now she can use it in the shade of our covered patio off the garage.

I picked up some cheapo bike seat so my almost 2 year old can ride or sit in the bike with me. I did not want to get the more expensive plastic seat ones so I got some chinese one... seems to be ok, just the design and my bikes top tube width kinda make me so so with it. It works and its sturdy I just dont want it rubbing and scratching so I might rig something up.. otherwise seems to work

Workbench reassembled, with the nice clean new beveled melamine tops. New bigger casters are gloriously smooth and run over even small children without getting bogged down. All four casters swivel and have brakes.
I want to drill a matrix of dog holes in the top, and I really ought to do that before I stuff all my tools and accessories back inside the bench. And I still need to mount some T-tracks and make a custom router fence. But not today.

I bought this surface cleaner from the Frieght a lil while ago.

It definitely works as is, I’m happy with it - But !

I added 3 swivel casters to it for a more ease of using it.

I haven’t used it as yet- Damm weather cold and raining, but tomorrow it’s supposed to be fairly nice so a trial run is in the works .

Oppps- this is from the first attempt- the picture showing it wet, I had these plastic casters and they weren’t up to being on concrete, since then changed to rubber ones and waiting on better weather to test .

Not so much what I did in my garage today but what I did to my garage today. One of the poles has rottened off at ground level and I have to come up with a fix. It lifted very easy with a 30-ton bottle jack and a ridiculously large angle plate that I had laying around for years and never really had an idea what I was going to do with it. It was indispensable and for 10 bucks I couldn't have bought the iron to make one. Unfortunately the lift was the easy part of the repair now I got to do some digging.
