copied over from the Forged Steel Products thread.

OK, last one I have.
Bought these at an estate sale of a late tool salesman. They looked like they were never used, just shelf worn from sitting.

That was a great estate sale and I really wish I had bought much much more there. The whole main floor of the house, two garages and a shed were all filled with NOS MAC, Cornwell, SK, KD, SKIL, Stahlwille, Robinair, misc, etc. There was a 10x10 bedroom filled with shelves of NOS SK socket sets. This was the only Snap on item I remember finding there.

Anyway, here it is

Estate sale find yesterday in the final hour of the last day. Shaft and ferrule were completely rust encrusted and the wood handle encased in dried gunk. I knew a blunt square shaft in a wood handle was worthy of further investigation, and with the help of a near-by wire brush, saw I had an early SO spinner. After clean-up at home I was able to determine it to be an M-4 Midget Ignition Handle, first seen in the 1931 catalog and last noted with a wood handle in 1937.

Edit: Just saw on ebay a 1934 coded M-4 on "sale" for $809. It's been posted since Aug '23 and has the SO name on the shaft and Bluepoint on the ferrule in addition to the date code. I've seen other examples on this thread with date codes and ferrule stamps but, after a thorough examination, I can say mine has neither.

Keeping with the theme Old Radar started in the GS thread, found this 1/2” spinner today with one socket.

The socket has no markings. Question for those who might know. Maybe Snapmom or OTG? Is that normal? I’ve seen them with markings.

I see the set in the 1928 catalogs but not sure how long the run was. Need to research.

Logo’s been rubbed down.
Interesting how the set came with a cross bar.

I see the screwdriver set in the 1925-1928 catalogs. Does anyone know if they went into the 30's?

Snapmom- I just saw a post where you have two different length drivers as well. Never knew about the variation.

20s thing as far as I can tell. I have kind of a gap in thirties other than drag link sockets. Later on the stuff I have found had replaceable bits,

9/32 drive 1/4 drive and 1/8 drive smallest socket is 3/32 pretty cool I don't think they made 1/8 drive very long plus some interesting looking midget sockets some 9/32 drive are newer than the 1/4 drive ones20240503_164021.jpg

The 9/32 dr crow foots are hard to find
This is my first time coming across the 1/8 drive stuff also. I'm pretty sure very limited run not sure how much stuff they made in that drive size. According to the 71 cat I have it with just the driver and the 4 sockets. You got any insights into that?

That's an early one if your looking to sell or trade feel free to reach out I need one of those to finish a set. Some people ask crazy prices just how it goes. The non gripper m4s usually sell for like 40-150 on ebay if you take the last like 20 sold as the reference

Enough snap-on I'm here to warrant a post on this thread but the box here is MTF that I aquired along with the daunting and exciting task of filling it up with the proper tools with a HUGE thanks to private lugnutz for allowing me to get this off him. Updated progress pics will be on mtf thread. Thanks again Greg!

Snap-on No.75 (1949) and friend:

SigO found two Snap-on Ratcheting Box Ends yesterday. After a bit of cleaning one turned out to not be. Smaller Wrench looks similar, is nonfunctional on the 3/8 end and is branded “MAC” and PAT. APP.

I was happy to pick up these 9/32-drive pieces (to help round out a secondary set I am assembling...) from @Steven 33 as a part of my end of the trade I made with him getting the MTF box he mentioned/showed upthread, which I was just as happy to release to him. Nothing unusual or notable, 1944 and 1945 dates codes, except the 6-point 7/16" M-14, which I was excited to see with a much rarer 1942 date code. :)

Set of double box end wrenches acquired a few months ago. Teasing a picture of KR-377B that I am cleaning up as backdrop. Hopefully picture comes through okay and will post complete tool box once finished.

I left this box behind today at a swap meet. Looks from the inside it was always gray, even under the repaint. The early logos directly embossed on boxes are upright, so what years does this fit into?

My gut tells me these Snap on? No markings other than A-44, A-45 and M23(8)? 9/32 drive. Is the "C" a owners mark? The date code stamp would be 1933 by the Snap on code chart.DSCN8778.JPGDSCN8779.JPG

Is the direction lever on this Midget M70-L (bottom of the pic) original? All the Midgets that have passed through my hands were a flat tear drop shape. Reminds me of something you would see on a Duro ratchet? DSCN8775.JPG
