Had an 8' shop light go out. House built in 2014 & I assume that is how old the light is. Likely a dinosaur in LED terms.

Appears both the driver & the LED boards are bad.

If I can't find replacement parts or parts to retrofit into the current fixture I'd like to just swap it out. I'm in the middle of a painting project & need to get this up & running sooner than later.

Any suggestions?

not shop lights and not in the shop but I have installed the Costco sold panel lights, and so far 3 years it's great and bright in the studies room. Low profile too... was $39.99 and some discounts not sure now.

This one it's a two pack, they sell one pack ones at warehouse as well...

I have installed various types of these at home & at our cabin.

At a ceiling height of 9' my perception is they don't direct light downwards as well as these shop lights that came with this house.

We don't have a Costco here but I'll look for something similar. Even if it gets me through this project I'll be able to use it somewhere if I don't like it in the shop.

Not sure... for me that is plenty bright in the studies 1 light 4' length panel. about 10'x12' room also about 102" -ish ceiling. I don't have any pro light meters to test so only a subjective view of it.

Amazon have them but pricey than costco.

I have bout *4x of them left in the basement for back up.. they were on sale...and I am a sucka for sales

Our most recent one in our foyer seems to be much better that the first generation type we bought several years ago for our cabin. It's worth looking around to see what's available. If my current shop lights are reaching their end-of-life phase I'm going to need several of them.

There are other companies that makes these panel light or if not plenty of ballast less t8 replacement tubes that have great reviews. hF one on sale today only have good ratings as well but not surface mount

All your assumptions are negative and if you are convinced you can make them be your reality.

Let’s us help or is this just a rant?

What is the make and model of the fixture?

Why do you assume both the driver and LED board are both bad?

Will you post some photos of the parts you think you need?

Is this really an 8 ft LED or 2x4ft LED? I am not sure of how many 8ft LED tubes were available to the general public in 2014. Assuming these are not some type of hybrid ballast bypass LED fixtures, is there really a separate driver or is it internal to the tubes? Are the tubes powered at each end?

My two T8 fluorescent twin bulb fixtures from Lowes have been on 24/7 since 2014 when I installed them, think I changed 1 bulb maybe 2. Meanwhile the similar LED fixture over the bench has been replaced 3 times in the same years and only turn it on when working in that spot.

Ironically, I only bought the LED fixture because people told me how reliable they are and LED last forever. Guess nobody told my pile of inoperable flashlights that only lasted a week tops. One day I might tear them apart and Frankenstein them back to a few working lights to last another week... probably not.
