Tool Box Hard To Move...

I need advice: I have a Craftsman 26 inch wide four piece tool cabinet(bottom, middle, top and side cabinets). It might be Craftsman’s mid-grade set. Whenever I need to move the unit it weighs a ton and it takes two or more people to move the complete unit. Is my problem in the casters? I have two fixed wheels and two swivel wheels on the bottom cabinet. Should I buy bigger wheels, better quality wheels or maybe change the two fixed wheels to swivel? By the way, the unit sits on top of wall-to-wall carpeting in my apartment. I gotta do what I gotta do.

I wouldn't change to four swivel casters.... i imagine the box tumbling over when all four turn the short direction rather than the long way.

I would add larger swivel casters in addition I'd also add some casters under the side cabinets. It would distribute the load better, that's a lot of weight over the 26" main box. Include some pics of your box. It would help with more diffinative answers.

See if it rolls any easier on the bathroom floor, some carpet can make toolboxes hard to move. I've had some inside and they were horrible to move around

Interested in the model number for your side locker, I've been needing to find a cheap way to increase the storage on my 26" CM box, browsed through the side lockers/cabinets on Sears' site, but couldn't find anything that specifically said it would mount on the 26" type.

Maybe I'm just blind, though.

Last year I bought a used side cabinet for my 20 plus year old 26". Sears must think the weight is going to tilt it, so it is sold for a 40".
