Hey all just received my new air hammer last week finally got it to work and it seems like a dud!!! Any ideas? And is the Rep from aircat still on the forums? Will work sporadically then seem to lock up. Is also loosing air! Around the nose cone it seems the oil is from me spraying penetrating oil around the chuck to see if it would loosen up! Thanks I was going to attach a video but unsure how?

Too much and/or too thick of an oil can cause the valve to not cycle properly. I'd run something thin like penetrating oil through the inlet and see if that solves the issue.

Thanks it is like it will bypass the hammer! Will blow air from where the bit goes and from around the plastic nose cone. I just tried running a bit of thin oil in it no change!!

I’ve been told air should be around 125 psi at the reel!! Air supply is proper and well dried I was told we have over 300 cfm available to the shop and another compressor with chiller/dryer unit to take over should that be exceeded!! Theirs 30-40 guys working off it but 80% of everyone is using batterie tools now!!! 😂😂 air supply is not a issue at least at this shop!!

Stupid question but you do have a bit in it when trying to run? It won't cycle without one. If your barrel came loose that will cause issues also. I would get it warranted if you still are having problems.

There is no reason to mess around with a tool that is a week old. Duds happen from time to time, just return and replace it so you can move on.
^^^^ This. I wouldn't waste another minute on this aside from returning.

Thanks all i was hoping maybe the aircat rep would reach out!! Yes i will be contacting aircat for a replacement was purchased threw my Snapon guy i had just wanted a compact short barrel tool for cracking hydraulic fittings loose!

Definitely acting up with a Snapon hammer bit in or the bits that came with the air hammer set! If i pull the bit out and shove it back in it works for a few cycles!!

Make sure the air fitting matches the hose. I've seen problems with high flow couplers will hook up to regular fittings but not flow correctly. I have that same air hammer and mine works great.

Well aircat is useless on the phone anyways!! Simply told me to return it to the original place of purchase and I’m sore out of luck if it’s not a “authorized” reseller!!! Who knows if my snap on dealer is. Was purchased from him through the G2S tool catalog. So I’m sure that’s okay. Kind of upsetting they couldn’t deal with the issue directly though!! 🤷 Will keep everyone updated. If the aircat rep on the forum happens to chime in that would be great!! 😎

I seem to recall their warranty used to allow for returning the tool to their authorized service centers, sorta like MAC expects you to do if you can't take it to a truck. Are they saying they don't allow that anymore? If so, that's a bummer.

I really dislike these "take it back where you bought it and deal with them, it's not our problem," so-called warranties. Seems very disingenuous to flaunt a warranty that's essentially just a glorified 2-year return policy. :dunno:
