Love when that happens! Rare finds are nice. Some guys like big scores and bargains. But these kinds of little innocuous finds of persistence and continuity are the lifeblood of the longhaul collector.
It was such a chance find. I looked through a tool cabinet the storage guys had and was informed it already sold to a vendor. There were 3 or 4 guys selling the storage items, people everywhere, and one guy shows me another box plus the tools he’d emptied out of it. I found a wrench and then stumbled across the handle nearby. It was a long shot without knowing any diameters, but surprisingly it worked out.

Never heard of D&M bats, google fu say D&M stands for Draper & Maynard. Nice find on an old bat !I finally got to go to a sale today and it didn't disappoint. I rolled through about a half hour before it opened and they were setting up for day 2. I asked if I could look and the lady gladly obliged. I snatched the Buddy L (missing rear wheels and tail gate) and the old kids football helmet for $1 each. Then I walked to the garage and asked about the oily rag can. When he said $5 I knew the prices were going to be good. I have been looking for one for a while and crappy used ones are bringing a premium so this was a good score for me. I then went and saw the Converse baseball bat and knew it was old and in decent condition. The rest of the bats were broken but the man (who I later realized that I knew from 25 years ago) said just take all the bats or they will end up in the fire pit. The Converse bat is from the 1930's from my quick research and is bringing quite a price on eBay. I've read to use lemon oil to bring some life back to it. I also grabbed a metal storage drawer, and old metal wash bin, and a small metal case which had PAJ SPECIALTY Co.-GREASE GUN COUPLERS. I thought it was cool so I grabbed it. All in for $12!!!
There was also a CMAN/Snap-On mixed stack full of mixed tools. I breezed through it and while it had good tools in it the only thing I noticed I wanted was a CMAN 3/8" ratchet with the speeder handle. I picked it up and asked how much and the guy says Oh man I've never seen that before. I think I want to keep it. Darn! Oh well.
Yes Draper and Maynard. Apparently they made/sold baseball equipment from the mid/late 1800's-1940's I believe. Cool old bat.

I was disappointed the new Proto bar doesn’t fit my vintage 1” Proto ratchet head. The bar diameter ‘s smaller. Oh well, it was cheap enough.
I am however stoked that the oddball double knurl bar perfectly fits this…the Walden extra long extension t handle from last month. Now officially a “T-handle!”.
No idea what the knurl bar was, but some storage guys had it in their tools. Talk about right place at the right time.
Missing one of the tip clamps sadly. I think one would fit or could be modified from another plier. I see how the hold its place factor could come in handy.

Plenty of sales around the last few weeks but the good ones have been nonexistent. Scrounged up a few things at the flea though...Had a weird day yesterday, people were way pushy. Two different dudes actually came up and started digging through the same box I was in (at different booths even), then another was breathing down my neck so bad it was creeping me out. For a bunch of offshore wrenches at the flea market.
Anyway I was happy to find the SuperKrome stuff, hoping I can fill out the sets a bit so if anyone has extras let me know!

Picked up some small oilers at a local swap. Hadn’t ever seen the Lionel track cleaner before as well as the small Keystone in near mint condition. Nice additions to the collection.
Saturday was a pretty good day, started off with a Stanley 71 1/2 router for $8
Then a few meh sales with lots of clothes.

Then a sale where everything was free, really nice guy was getting rid of his father's estate.
