Did a quick self propel lawn mower flip today. I found this 10 year old John Deere JS36 curbed that said free yesterday so the hoarder I am I grabbed it and took it home. It was absolutely covered in dirt and grime and it had a broken wheel. So I set into work and cleaned it up, replaced the broken wheel with one I had, its a different color but the price was right as I had that one in my collection of odds and ends, put it all back together and installed the blocking cover on the side. I then replaced the spark plug, squirted in some oil and took a chance and put in a quart of gas in it. Three pulls and I had a smoke show in my shop but the mower did good. Then I tested and the transmission worked. I then pulled the blade and sharpened it and called a neighbor who was looking for a lawn mower. $120.00 landed in my pocket and the mower found a new home.

I was thinking I might have to clean the carb but it ran flawlessly so I just skipped that step. IMG_1442.jpegIMG_1441.jpeg

Actually yesterday. Watched my ******* friend finish the paint job on the truck he abandoned last week when he went to the ER for breathing and other problems. That is hopefully the last paint job that he will ever do if he wants to live.

Opened up the cabin filter on my Outback, to discover that "Stupid Auto Parts" had sent me one for a Forester.

Doesn't he wear a respirator?

Yabbut, beard and hair, I'm sure it leaks. Respiratory problems are from a lifetime of smoking, working in body shops, and other poor life choices. Add in a phobia of health care that keeps him away from treatment until he is in dire straits.
Overnight in the hospital also put him into alcohol withdrawal/DT's, which he treated by a six-pack on the way home.

Spent a couple days this weekend trying to reorganize a bit for the upcoming delivery of my safe. I need a damn shed so I can get all the lawn equipment out, as well as some other things.

If anybody has suggestions on how to better store Race Ramps, please tag me and share! Thanks!

Looks like you lose access to that power outlet...
I'm going to have the safe put a couple inches away so I can plug it in. I might put a filler strip if I want to get fancy.

With that said - the damn power connection on the safe comes out the back!

@MAYBEN We got a 10'x10' shed for that exact reason, so lawn equipment is taking up valuable space in the garage/shop. How do you have the race ramps stored? can you hang them on a wall?

Well, in PRNJ, putting a shed is a bit of a PITA with the town. I'm trying to sort out placement of a 12x24(maybe 12x30) if I can somehow put it near the driveway. If I can't, I'll have to put it in the back of the backyard - which eliminates the possibility of using as additional garage. It also eliminates the kids putting their bikes/etc in it as it would be quite the nuisance. BUT - if I do that, I might be able to put a 2nd shed in the driveway area (on "neighbor's" property), would be 10x10 to avoid the town intervening - that could easily house the bikes, sports gear, scooters, etc.

As for the Race Ramps, they're stacked in between the two Pontiacs at the moment. It's not terrible, but just another thing to avoid walking around.

I am familiar with Sparta being originally from northern NJ (Warren County). Before my wife & I moved out of NJ almost 3 years ago we lived in a 55+ community in Toms River (Ocean County) & it had a HOA that was a pain to deal with. They wanted any shed against the back of the house, so I put in a request to place it in a different location & drew out a rough sketch of where I wanted it in relation to the property line & the house & it was approved. Try speaking to someone in the planning department, it might help.

1000002849.jpgFinished grinder stand. Drilled hole patterns 3 different grinders. E60 M5 rotor is the base. Messed up on correct height to sit on 5 gallon pail.

So nice to grind outside.
do you have trouble with vibration ? I have a grinder mounted on a disc similarly and the damn thing vibrates all over the place, I had to brace it to a post in my shed ( my grinder has one of those belt linisher attachments on it though)

Righto, I gotta ask, it could be your accent I'm not sure but what is a happy jungle package ?
Amazon box. It's sort of like cockney rhyming slang, with a Halfassed twist. The boxes have got a smile, so they're happy. Amazon is a jungle. Package~box. Happy jungle package. Could also be Jeff's happy jungle package, as Jeff Bezos owns Crapazon.
You need to study more assiduously to keep up.

Listened to a neighbor vent about how she was seriously overcharged for work on her garage door. I suggested that if the company who she paid refused to make it right, she call both the Better Business Bureau and the local TV station, bad publicity can seriously hurt a company that cheated her.

Not so far but I've only used it for about an hour. I cleaned up a bunch of old wrenches with a wire wheel (put on after photo) so no grinding where I'm applying more force.

That rotor is pretty heavy; I bet close to 20 pounds and ~15" diameter. Two feet of 2" schedule 40 pipe adds 7+ pounds.

Additionally, on the bottom, I drilled and tapped every other hole (eight total) and put in a 5/16 bolt. I figured a few small points of contact would be less likely to wobble.

Hmm, yeah. I'm sure they're boning us. I still like the idea of a smile. Those boxes make me smile.

You grow up with a Victorian era college educated grandmother. You'll say things like that, too.

I spent the day in the shop in front of fans......and still about melted! I put the engine and jet pump back in this Seadoo. And I pulled out the HDPE oil tank, emptied it, flushed it, washed it out a couple times, then welded up the seams and crack it had. Now it will actually HOLD oil!
