Had a small older monitor not being used and thought it would be nice to set it up to use in the garage...
Ordered a cheap wall mount from the Jungle site that came in yesterday...
I also had an older 11" MacBook Air (Big Sur) that is no longer supported by Apple updates but works OK to surf the web...
Got the wall bracket mounted this morning...

It would sure be nice if there was a way to connect to the monitor wirelessly...
Does anyone know if there a transmitter and receiver dongle that would make the connection?
MacBook Air has a lightning port and the monitor has a DVI-D receptacle... Suggestions?

If not wireless, then make a box to connect wires, such that screen to box, and computer to box. Better than one long cord, and you get to choose where

Put the aging race tires on the Z for this Sunday's autocross. Trying to get through the season.

Seems the 15ish year old optima finally **** out, the tender said no mas. So had to put another battery in the 67 so I can take it to cruise night tomorrow.

Dropped a couple of swap meet rusty tools and a found on the road Snap On socket in some vinegar.

Spent a good chunk of the day cutting down and removing the 10’ rose bushes and random wild trees from my neighbor’s side of the garage so that I can get to the trim and eventually paint.

Removed the last of the trim (their side). Started cutting and installing the new trim.

Time for new lava rocks in the gas BBQ grill. The grill manufacture wanted $40 for 12 rocks!!!
I needed 36 to replace all the rocks in my three burner grill. $120!, no freaking way!
Found 50 rocks on that river site for $29.

The machine screws holding the rack together were seriously seized. Surprised?

A couple minutes on each rack with a grinder, some new hardwareand all three racks are as good as new.

I’m chasing a turn signal problem. Seems the left doesn’t want to blink like the right. Moreso when the headlights are on.

Found this lovely stuff. I love my grampa to death, but I do wish he had not spliced these, but instead bought good assemblies when these cars were everywhere in the junkyard. Now I have to search eBay for deals, and be glad to pay $200+ for a damn tail light. (I’m not mad, but I AM frustrated LMAO) IMG_4462.jpeg

Got the cheapest NOS one. It has some shelf wear, but my car is a daily driver. Not a show winner IMG_4464.jpeg

I actually DID need new lenses. Mine are sun checked and faded IMG_4463.jpeg

Got the drivers side on. IMG_4465.jpeg

Still have to locate a passenger side one. It’s spliced and diced too. But for now, I’ll paint the bezel to match so it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb!

There’s more, just didn’t snap pics.

Kay, Will a kitchen oven go hot enough for powder coat? I have a toaster oven I use for curing smaller painted parts, but also have a wall oven stashed for that... Plan is to mount it in a cart (think TV AV cart from the past century...)
Mine hits 450°, which has been hot enough for nice results on the dogeater chute. I used product from Prismatic Powders on Crapazon. I also powder coated another project with a product from HF. It was ****. The HF PC gun works OK, though.

walked in,grabbed my head torch and went gardening for an hour, got ready for work, back to the shed and pulled an end cap of my bench grinder, knocked the bearing out, threw it in my tucker box and headed to work
head torch = head lamp
tucker box = lunch bucket?
we won’t even start to confuse people here with Esky. Lol

I have an Australian friend and we continuously give each other **** about language.

In the driveway out front of the garage I plugged a slow leak in a tire on Mrs No_Garage's car. I got to use my 30 year old tire repair kit for the third time. I will keep an eye on the plug but it seems fine so far.

Trying to clear the clutter from the garage - it's currently full of items that we have "curbside shopped" in the last 2 months. Some of the items were picked up to sell.

Cheers

Jim

This last spring the bride says "Honey, the tree in the side yard is dying and needs to be taken out." So, out comes the tree.
But tree shaded the big window in the kitchen that now dumps bright light and heat into the window and kills her plants! So, the bride say's, "honey, we need to get something to shade the window!"
Ok, it's a 6' long garden window and screens from the local glass shop are like crazy expensive. So now I have found a roller sun shade awing that will do the job and it is cheaper than the extra heavy-duty screens. So, the tools come from the garage to the side yard and I commence the installation of a cheapo roll-up screen with direction written by a non-english speaking technician in a sweat shop somewhere over the pacific. The hand drawn pictures are backwards and the writing is so small these 78 year old eyes have to use a magnifier to read them. I will however never bad-mouth IKEA instructions again. Tools go back into the garage and I'll start again tomorrow!
