Looks like Cal Van. I don't think Matco even took their own photo... the reflection on the sockets is identical.

No, but I'm not completely opposed to them. I was going to order the Lisle, but I ended up having to borrow a Matco from a friend. I was highly impressed with it and he seemed to strongly prefer that style. Which is what got my interested. It worked very well.

Those are an interesting design. I don't think I've seen weighted sockets that neck down like that.

I hadn't either. That's what seemed so unique about them. My buddy that let me borrow it claims he's been able to use them in several situations that the thick walled sockets that don't neck down wouldn't work. Which is what has me considering these over the others.

Looks good to me. A lot safer than the mickey mouse starter bump... (not that I will admit to doing that at all).

I tried that trick for the first time recently and liked it!

(Granted, the battery was pretty weak, and not shown in the pic was a C-clamp that surrounded the breaker bar handle, kinda like one of those driveshaft protectors for the racing crowd.)

I did the starter bump decades ago on a Honda when I only had a weak air impact. Broke both the HF impact socket AND the HF breaker bar. I was impressed with the dual destruction as you'd think that one would be the weak link :ROFLMAO:

After that, it was time to get medieval; a few seconds of heat from the OA torch on the bolt head was all it took to stretch the bolt enough to remove with the same IR231 copy that failed an hour earlier....

I wouldn't expect a Honda to have enough torque to break its own crank bolt loose.

I'm not going to lie, in the past I've done this too, but I this car was a push button start and I didn't want to try it since I couldn't just bump it like I would with a key.
