Wouldn't it be closer to 1/2" "gain", since you're only gaining the radius vs the diameter? That's just my nerd math brain thinking...

Yes on the wheel......but the bracket is also smaller. The 6 caster floor to top flange is 7-1/2", on the 5 caster floor to mount point is 6-1/2".

I was just looking at overall heights and not thinking that specific way, but you are correct.

Fair enough! See, I went out half-cocked without all the specs...just didn't want to see you go through all the trouble and end up "short".

But I'd be "tall"

If I replace the casters I'd only have to shim the saw maybe 1/8 tops. That seems easier than an inch.....

The wife used to think I was nuts with gopher control. When I’d see a fresh dig site I’d grab some fresh flowers, a lawn chair, a beer and my pellet gun. Sit right in front of the hole and stuff the flowers in it. It never failed I’d be halfway thru a bottle and the gopher would drag the flowers into the hole then pop up to see what the f was going on.

As long as you are good with the height, putting the saw on top of a piece of plywood that is the correct thickness would be easy.

I was able to get a little more done on the shop today. I'm gonna turn the previous smaller outfeed table into a miter station.

Neighbor came over with the old Ford 3000 and JD tiller and we got the garden all whipped into shape.




Also did some pumpkins.

I’m going to have a beer to celebrate !! The new wood shop looks amazing. I have other questions but I wasn’t smart enough to write them down as I went so they may never come lol.

It's been raining all day so we took our Coors can collection to the recycle center, stopped at a friend's house and drilled a cable hole in a shelf I hung the other night for them (forgot my hole saw kit, didn't know that was part of the job lol), and then made a orange box run for some supplies and started working on the lawn and garden section here.

Right before another round of rain I was able to replace all the tensioners on my grape vine posts

It's no @loganb pretty, but I got the dust collector all hooked back up. It goes straight down into the floor and then runs to machines.

Started getting the garden fenced in. Not pretty but it will do for this year. We have seen some deer in the side field and the dogs won't stay out of it either, dumb dogs.

I hate to tell you, but the deer will laugh at your fence and jump over it if they really want the goods!

We used to put a motion light with an outlet that had a waterproof radio plugged in, out on the poll in the garden. Worked great for the nighttime critters.

Yep I'm dealing with the same thing in my veggie garden right now. Have always had some deer around and they more or less respected my 4' garden fence, but with all the development occurring in my area the deer are getting more concentrated and all the vegetation in my yard is feeling their pressure more this year including the garden. Unfortunately an 8' fence is really required to be more or less "deer proof", mature deer can easily clear 6'. And I've read some reports online of properly motivated deer clearing 10' fences.

Chicken wire is great though for keeping the rabbits out as long as they don't learn to push under it. I double fenced with larger welded wire fencing & chicken wire over it so the chicken wire is "stiffened up" by the stronger fencing "inside" of it. Have never had a rabbit get in since doing that.

Yea, this is mostly for the dogs.....and kids haha. The deer usually don't wonder into the "yard", they stay in the hay field since it's a buffet.

Hey B, I’ve been told that up here in Flagstaff if you want to keep deer and/or elk outta the garden you either need a tall, over 6’ fence, or build a double fence. Deer can jump high or far, but from what I’ve been told, they can’t do both. So if you put another fence about 6’ outside the first fence it stops them pretty good. They don’t want to jump “into“ a fence. And when they do jump for distance they like to have a run at it. My distance might be off, but it does kinda make sense.

Headed out of town so had to get the yard done last night. I finished like 4 minutes before it got dark, shew. I did the house yard and got one of the back fields all chopped down.

Finished up the garden.....for now. I head out of town tomorrow and at least wanted to get it closed off to the dogs so my wife didn't have to deal with that.

So my wife and I kind of having a running joke about the place. Due to the way some things were done, we have a joke that we are gonna put up a sign over the driveway that says "Half *** Acres" . So in true HA fashion, I made up a little latch and pivot for the garden door that way my wife can get in to plant, pick, weed, etc etc. This was all stuff found in the back of the barn. The PVC is just on a big spike made out of a slight smaller PVC. As I was finishing up we got a nice hour or so free watering from the man above

My heart says yes....my wallet says otherwise . I'm just kidding in good fun, I'm glad she has a sport to call her "own". She's tries soccer and some things and while they are fun she's never really fully invested. With horses she's totally in her little world.
