Just pick this up at the local knick-knack and novelty store that was closing out. It definitely works. Obviously the handle extension is not any longer available. Just curious if anyone knows what this is all about. Thanks for now

I've heard them called railroad jacks. They will lift a lot. I've used them with a wood handle about 2-3 ft long. Great for lifting buildings/sheds/camps with sill beams. You'll probably have to make a handle

Looks like the Duff no 5 I just got yesterday. Mine has 2 loop handles tho. Same lower gear mech tho. Trying to figure out lift capacity on this one also. Aldon company still makes the replacement handles. I have one I can get pics of later too.

They work well, and I have one for buildings and my forklift if needed, but are finger getters if you are not extremely careful. A piece of 1-1/4 plumbing pipe works with mine as a handle.

I have one and, like my Hi-Lift jack, I need a pretty long handle for it to lift really heavy weight, but it does work well. Not sure if I'd want to lift 70,000 lbs with it, but I'm sure it will handle it if needed.
BTW, it IS a heavy so and so, but not so bad as to make it not portable enough to throw in the back of my former Subaru with the rest of my tools. And unlike the Hi-Lift, I've yet to have it dump a load unexpectedly.

There are a few videos of them on YouTube. A simple "railroad jack" in the search bar brought them up.
