Okay, I now this is an utter waste of time, but that's what I like to do! And I'm also wondering if it would even work.
I can't "overbend" the frame on this ratchet tie down without completely disassembling it, but would putting some sort of wedge/expansion bolt in-between the frame, then heating the metal (at the proper "bend" point) and allowing it to cool, get it closer to normal/take up the gaps?
(right now, the pawls sometimes slip behind the frame and the mechanism gets stuck)
