At one time you could get some Kennedy boxes in red. That was a good auction buy!
I see the box has been painted red at some point, maybe to 'civilianise' it.
We had a similar looking box show up on CL here, kinda boring look compared to a Gerstner. The one I saw was originally sold by an early Asian importer, listed for around $300ish in the early 80s, roughly half a Gerstner if I recall the math I did when I saw it. Think it was a Falconer brand.

I don't have this version.
for sale in Northern CA.
Here are the images from that ad. Nice box.
Something about "without pictures......"?Solid Mahogany (Probably Philippines M.) and void free Applewood 7 layer ply, great build quality but no fancy joinery.
Yes, I brought it home, and it's headed for the ladies art room. Shop use would kill it.
Size is:
Base - 32 wide, 22 deep, 37 tall
Top - 31 wide 12 deep and, 20 tall
Full depth slides rated 100 lbs each.
Did someone say Tracy, zip code 95376? I grew up thereIt wasn't Stockton BMW, it was Tracy. 2 hrs 45 min all in, round trip. 55 miles each way. traffic going out; road constriction coming home. so about 40 min in the grind.
Did you have to go through the Altamont?
Yes that area gets stacked up with traffic a lot unfortunately. The triangle leads to a lot of traffic.Sadly, yes, I'm not a fan. It was off Grant line, just past N. Tracy B.
I used to go up to Altamont Raceway when they had open wheel races, and the one time I did "Spectator Racing" there, I used a borrowed Buick -I think a Le Saber? one of the big ones - that a friend bought to get the tires off of. I had to fix the front sway bar link - i did it with all-thread!And jacked some weight into it!
This was standing start, two cars, one lap. and eliminations. I won 3 X and the guy that got me had one more race before he won; by a much larger margin than when he ran me. I was on his bumper...
Nice! Your third pic: Is that a narrow compartment across the back?Picked this old MBC up for 40$ cleaned it up and gave it to my 14yr old for his first tool box
Kinda has that “taco wagon” theme especially with one set of big wheels

No, it’s the factory hammered paint finish. I looked in all the drawers and behind them and it’s not a repaint. Another friend said it may be snap on but i didn’t think they used this hammered paint? That is an odd duck. Is that primered?
I know. Very well made. Good overall condition as well. Wish I knew more about itWow. That's a mysterious box.
