Here are the images from that ad. Nice box. $300 seems reasonable.

We had a similar looking box show up on CL here, kinda boring look compared to a Gerstner. The one I saw was originally sold by an early Asian importer, listed for around $300ish in the early 80s, roughly half a Gerstner if I recall the math I did when I saw it. Think it was a Falconer brand.

I have a Grizzly like one, and there are others by HF that have the look, but not the style.

I would look closely at the wood and joints, make sure it's not all plywood or particle board, or MDF under a veneer before I have the dime on a Dollar valuation. This looks like plywood fronts and dividers.

But it is a nice looking box, and worth the $300 as a user box

^ I've seen similar cabinets up at Harbor Freight that look sort of line that. I considered buying one for the purpose of holding art supplies, but the drawers are too skinny for a tube of acrylic or oil paint and where do I put the brushes?

I don't have this version.

LA2, I'm pretty sure that is the older 25" wide version about 154 or 6 IIR

for sale in Northern CA.

Here are the images from that ad. Nice box.

Well, I can answer some Qs about the one Rmerr and Mint posted:

Custom made about 15 years ago by a Cabinet shop in SF. The guy ordering it ghosted on them and it sat. The shop closed and the seller/builder brought it home and never used it. It has a bit of "shop wear" on the outside, but not bad and much should cleanup.

Solid Mahogany (Probably Philippines M.) and void free Applewood 7 layer ply, great build quality but no fancy joinery.

Yes, I brought it home, and it's headed for the ladies art room. Shop use would kill it.

Size is:
Base - 32 wide, 22 deep, 37 tall
Top - 31 wide 12 deep and, 20 tall

Full depth slides rated 100 lbs each.

It wasn't Stockton BMW, it was Tracy. 2 hrs 45 min all in, round trip. 55 miles each way. traffic going out; road constriction coming home. so about 40 min in the grind.

Did someone say Tracy, zip code 95376? I grew up there 👍. Lived next to the freeway by the McDonald’s and the in n out.

Did you have to go through the Altamont?

Sadly, yes, I'm not a fan. It was off Grant line, just past N. Tracy B.

I used to go up to Altamont Raceway when they had open wheel races, and the one time I did "Spectator Racing" there, I used a borrowed Buick -I think a Le Saber? one of the big ones - that a friend bought to get the tires off of. I had to fix the front sway bar link - i did it with all-thread! :ROFLMAO: And jacked some weight into it!

This was standing start, two cars, one lap. and eliminations. I won 3 X and the guy that got me had one more race before he won; by a much larger margin than when he ran me. I was on his bumper...

Yes that area gets stacked up with traffic a lot unfortunately. The triangle leads to a lot of traffic.

I picked up this kennedy and this unknown box today? It has a beach vibe to it but I'm not sure. It has piano hinges that run down the side where someone cut off the vertical doors that covered the drawers. Also another interesting noted that the top edges are rounded, not a 90 degree square like most other boxes. Any one recognize it? It was originally a blueish teal color. IMG_0896.jpeg

Was bought up and disbanded finally around 2008? Honeywell was involved, was formed into a company called Novar. Sold products in canning, printing, building supplies etc...

Ok here’s a weird one. Apparently I’m now the king of odd old tool boxes this week. I picked up this vintage 2 drawer roller for $25. It’s really solid but it’s only 24” tall and 18” deep. I can see it did have a hinged front cover but it’s missing now. Of course that had the emblem on it. I’m not aware of anyone making a short roller like this aside from plomb/ pressteel and this isn’t a pressteel for sure. It does have the same handles as a craftsman or snap in from the 40’s but the paint certainly isn’t from either of those brands. Anyone recognize this roller? The casters say Bassick on them

I'd jump right on this box for $25 if it was on this side of the water! Maybe @saukit will want it.

Old tool box. 10 drawers, 36" high, 27" wide, 17" deep. Works, but certainly not new. Not perfect by any means, but it will hold your tools. No wheels and kind of heavy... It might work for you, and it's super cheap!

The bassick caster Co. Is out of bridgeport, Connecticut since 1876! The wheels may not be original though.
