When you say long handle, how long is the handle?

Does it looked like a scaled down 36 tooth 3/8 drive flex head?

Are you sure you saw a Craftsman 1/4 flex head ratchet?

maybe it's not that big of a deal.
Get the long 1/4 breaker handle (raised panel) and attach it to a machined 1/4 head.

Now if this is a new 60-tooth low profile, 1/4, long handle, that would be something (or any change to the low-profile series, including a flex head)

speaking of craftsman 1/4 ratchets, at sears yesterday I saw a round head 1/4 ratchet, with a round handle similar to that of a snapon. Maybe it is SK but now labeled craftsman? It was only like 9 bucks. Looked really small and dinky though. And it wasnt shiny, just a dull silver metal.

probably one of the cheap craftsman evolv tools, but soon it seems it wont matter, all the new packaging dosnt say made in usa but some of the tools still do seems they are thinking ahead.

The internals look like they fit much better around the pawl aera. Let me know how the mallet test goes. The may have dumped the quick release to make the drive more sheer proof. Good to see some Improvement

Dang, its too bad they are using that standard head design... wish it was the old school fine tooth or 60 tooth head... oh, well! Is the selector plastic as well?

Thank, God! Finally! I remember when they switched over to plastic; all my customers bitched and moaned about that to no end! LOL! Well, here is a win from the designers/tool makers... I wonder how long until a bean counter thinks they will save 2 cents by using plastic ones? ALL HAIL THE METAL SELECTORS!
Interesting... this one actually has some design improvements over the old 3/8" version!

I guess this is an example of Sears product development at its finest. A Craftsman 36 tooth 3/8 drive flex head ratchet lists for $20.99 but, the new non quick release 1/4 drive flex head is almost twice as much.
Too bad, I would have paid $40 for a 60 tooth verson but, I think I'll pass on the 36 tooth model.

Thanks for the photos. On the top, middle, photo (bottom side of ratchet) I can't make our the series code... looks like VV?. last digit could be an upside down V but not sure.

Thanks for forking out the cash for us to see this. Maybe Sears is testing the waters to see if people really will spend more money on a quality tool. They need to get it down to at least 25 dollars
