Hello everyone, I just recently acquired an antique pneumatic vise labeled as a “Van Products Co. Model No. 46”. I’ve been searching for information on the vise but so far haven’t found much other than a picture of a catalog page on Vintage Machinery. http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/i ... x?id=22805
I was hoping somebody may have a clue where I could find some more info on this thing, aside from the inherit finger smashing capabilities it seems pretty neat.

Oh very cool! This is known as a Reed pneumatic, or Vi-Speed vise. It is a probably a model 104R or 104 1/2R. Did this by chance come from Georgia? A few of us vise collectors were watching that one.

It did actually, I came across it on facebook marketplace and had never seen a vise like it before. Gentleman said it was from his family’s old business so I assume it’s been a single owner vise. I’ll check out the vise thread thanks.
