It was a couple of miles from me and I missed it by 2 hours, damnit. The poster wanted to know what that loud train sound was, lol. It was. LOUD train, apparently.

I had no clue and only figured it out after one of those stupid posts on the “neighbors” thingy that comes with Ring. Other than the lost and found for pets, it’s pretty lame.

I should figure that out earlier next time…[/QUOTE]

You try just draining the float bowls? Fuel in tank will be fresher than the fuel in the float bowls. I really should start my FJ this year.
Not quite so easy on a ZX11 as it is on the ZRX11 (or an FJ). Takes major disassembly to get at the carbs.

In related news, hit the starter *** on the ZRX11 & it fired right up.

Not in the garage, unless you count the trips to the toolbox, but: replaced heat pump and impeller pump on Bosch dishwasher, which requires a stupid amount of disassembly. But almost every fastener is a T20 screw, so I got a chance to try out one of the new Olsa Torx driver set.

Well, after having the barn for just over 2 years and running it off an extension cord from the house, I've finally decided to get this thing wired up and done.
Yesterday the wife and I pulled all the wires from the barn to the side of the house near the panel. (some conduit still needing to be installed)
Reaching out now to the neighbor (electrician) to see what his schedule looks like for getting the sub panel installed and final connections made.
All the outlets and lights inside the barn are done and wires ready to be connected to the panel....may actually get this done before winter. (which was actually my goal last year )

Two garages two different projects/fixes. First Im making a new stand for my mail box. I had some steel laying around. Im making a square tube for the post. Welds are getting a little better but still need work. I dont weld enough to be proficient.

Wife was doing laundry and heard a clank in the dryer. She was worried we'd have to replace it... Lucky it was just the belt that slipped off the pulley. It just takes a bit to get to.

Spent a day building a cage for the baby squirrel we rescued a few weeks back(found him laying on the ground). It was getting too big for the box we kept in so I built it a nice wire cage with included tree branches so it can get some exercise. Finished it just in time as when my wife was getting things together to feed him, he was standing on top edge of the box. :)
Reminds me of my youth when my brother and I would climb trees to raid a nest almost every year. Fun little buggers.

Woke up yesterday morning to no hot water. Water heater (only 5 years old) had let go. Called Rheem, got warranty approval, unhooked the heater, hauled it up the basement stairs and took it to Home Depot for warranty replacement (pro-rated, f-u Rheem), hauled the new one down the basement stairs and installed it, got hot solder on my finger, but had a nice hot shower at the end of it all.

As it turns out, it was Home Depot that was responsible for the pro-rated credit, and Rheem is stepping up to reimburse my out-of-pocket. So I am sorry for the calumny against Rheem, and f-u, Home Depot.

Got one of the F350 front running boards mostly blocked out with#220 dry after spraying guide coat on them. Identified a few spots that need further repair/reinforcement.
It's actually straighter/flatter now than when it was originally installed. There were all sorts of ripples/orange peel etc that are now gone.
Heat has now stopped (outside) work for the rest of the day.

Got a wild hair in my *** & sat on the step, in the shade outside the garage & got the 4 smaller pieces blocked out with #220 dry, sprayed some primer on those pieces.
Left those pieces in the sun to give the primer some help in kicking off.

Had my second shower of the day.

DEFINITELY done for the day this time.

Next up (NOT today), primer will be hit with guide coat & #400 wet.

Got the kayak buffed, polished, and waxed. It's a boat that's going to be used and scratched, so I didn't go to the trouble of doing a full wet sand and cut before buffing. You can still see some orange peel if you look for it.

Then I tied on the bow and stern handles.
The boat looks beautiful!
You’re done an outstanding job on the boat and also on your posts about the project.
