Earlier this week, we featured Vern Tardel's shop space. It was built over decades of hard wear and tear and has the soul and personality to prove it. Today's feature, in contrast, is brand s...

Way cool style, but the bar has the best aspects!! Why aren't there any public bars decorated like this one? If anyone knows of a good car bar in southeast, let me know!

Mike Lavalle is one of today's hottest painters. So at least from that aspect, they are on the cutting edge. Can't wait to see the rest of his paint slingin'!

Remember, folks. It's also a TV studio...

It looks awesome, love the Hurst shifter beer tap and using the stubby wrenches as door pulls on the cabinets is such a great idea.

Mike Lavalle is an incredibly talented artist. Occasionally I head on over to Killer Paint and drool for a while. I look forward to seeing what all they do in the shop.

Very cool, i have multiple friends that work for other magazines owned by the same company, there offices and shop are in El Segundo and they have been there for a under a year now, the shop is 10,000 sq ft and the hot rod and cycle guys basically took over the shop. The powers that be don't want dirty off road and race trucks there i guess. All so , hot rod mag is probably the biggest selling mag of all of them there. On the other side there is a 10,000 sq ft photo studio set up just for sooting cars, it is a very impressive set up for sure. I am going to try to get over there at some point and check out the new digs. All this right in the middle of a business park and you would never know what was in that building unless you were invited or worked there. Every time i have been there, there has all ways been really nice machines to check out.
I will report back in the near future.

They have 10,000sq ft & thats what they did? I'm underwhelmed...

No... they did not have 10,000 square feet to work with actually. And you are only seeing a small part of the project here... Exclusive sneak peak of sorts.

It has been a while since i have been there, and that shop has to be 60 x 150, thats 9,000 sq ft, The entire shop is not used as a shop, there was a large area for motorcycle storage and a area for editors to store parts for feature cars and trucks, as well as a few offices if i remember correct. It has been at least 5 months since i was there, at that time there were no tools, lifts or anything else for that matter, just a few cars and some cycles sitting on a fresh epoxy floor.

Correct... I'm not sure of the exact square footage of the shop, but the working part shown here isn't anywhere close to 10,000 square feet.

Some time next week i am supposed to drop a trailer off to one of my editor buddies there, Hopefully i can get a sneak peek at the what they have done.
Try not to become friends with car mag editors, you will end up towing sh$$ around for them on a regular basis. Or don't own a truck that can pull a trailer.
