O-rings needed for hose reel

This is probably a long shot, but here goes:
This is a Strongway hose reel that I bought from Northern years ago. I need to replace the four o-rings on the shaft. Has anyone replaced these? I bought a Vinton assortment from Harbor Freight, but it didn't include the size I needed.
After putting a small caliper set on the axle channel, I came up with 3mm for the thickness and 20mm for the inside diameter. Looking up those measurements on an o-ring chart, I came up with a #117 o-ring. It seems to be an odd ball size because I've yet to find a store, like Napa, that has them to buy individually. Anyone else tried to get these?

If you're just using water with that reel, don't bother with Viton. Ordinary buna-n wears better. If you're using the reel to spray mixed pesticides, then carry on with Viton.

HF has two o-ring assortments that have covered most of my needs for stuff like this. The (now $10, used to be $7) red kit fits almost everything, and the blue metric kit covers the few in between sizes for me. My bet is the #116 in the HF red kit will do the trick if your ring is under 2mm in thickness, and the #217 will work if you can handle a ring that's 3.5mm in section.

Well, maybe it's metric. What I usually do is try to match up the old ring with my sets, keeping in mind that rings tend to enlarge in diameter while the section flattens.

The O-ring Store has a chat feature. Give them the precise dimensions of the diameter and width of the slots in the brass fitting and the inside dimension of the outside fitting. They should be able to tell you what size o-ring you need based on water use and water pressure. You'll likely need allowance for o-ring compression.

Thanks, Frank, I'll definitely check that out. It's kind of hard justifying shipping charges sometimes, but with the price of gas...sometimes it's just worth it to bite the bullet.

With my 10-25 min drive to get to a hardware store or HD, shipping for stuff like O-rings gaskets etc in the right size is well worth the aggravation saved.

Have you or anyone else found a replacement for the 1" ID aluminum hose coupling?

The interior surface on mine is very rough and I don't have access to a reamer...

BTW, the Ebay two prong Craftsman gear puller worked great!!!

Great to hear about the gear puller working for you. The removable, convertible jaws make it easy to use on many applications. As for the coupling, maybe rolling up a piece of medium grade sandpaper around your finger or a piece of heater hose to ream out? Then finish up with some scotchbrite.

My local ACE hardware carried metric o-rings in Buna-N, including 20 X 3mm. They probably don't have four of them in stock, 'though.

When you replace them, be sure to grease the hell out of them. I prefer silicone plumber's grease as it lasts well.

I know that you posted this last year but Northern Tool gave the following answer: "The O-rings in the swivel have a 19mm inside diameter and are 3.5mm thick."

I have this same hose reel cart and tried the 19mm inside diameter/3.5mm thick o-rings from Amazon - they were just a hair too thick even with some plumber's grease. Couldn't get the aluminum piece on by hand, and some banging with a rubber mallet shredded the o-rings (which was kind of expected, but I did it anyway).

I ended up going with some Buna-N o-rings from Grainger that were 19mm inside diameter and 3mm thick. They seemed to fit in pretty well and stopped about 99% of the leaking. There's still a tiny drip, but that's probably because the inside of the aluminum coupling where the o-ring contacts is corroded to hell. I should be able to squeeze a few more years out of this cart, at least.

Yes sir - those were the exact ones I got that worked for me. Hopefully you have the same luck.

19mm = 0.74803 inches compared to 3/4" = 0.750 inches
3mm = 0.11811 inches compared to a 3/32" O-ring = 0.103 inches
3.5mm = 0.137795 inches compared to 1/8" O-ring = 0.139 inches

It is almost like the callout for the O-ring was for 0.750" O.D. and 0.125" cross-section, which would describe the nominal fractional dimensions.

I dealt with this same problem a few years ago. I ended up using metric O-rings, but don't remember the exact size. I do remember thinking of enlarging the ring grooves.

I know, I am late to the discussion. But perhaps this will help someone. I purchased the Metric O-Ring Assortment from Harbor Freight. #210 / G20, ID 20, OD 26, Section 3.0 fit perfectly.
My kit did not have a 117,
