Wait until you see how much the screws cost...Crazy. We used $10 screwdrivers on spacecraft but a surgical screwdriver is $300+.

I read that as 'distraction screws'.
The screws go into space with the spacecraft, the screwdriver not so much ... or at least it's not suppose to go.Wait until you see how much the screws cost...
Wouldn't be surprised to find some of those 10mm sockets up there. The screws go into space with the spacecraft The screwdriver not so much ... or at least it's not suppose to go.![]()

Buy anything for the fire service and see how crazy prices are. $20 shovel at farm store is $120 for exact same thing from a fire service distributorThere is a high degree of traceability and final checking and high quality manufacturing behind that.
But yes, medical equipment has ******** prices. Most of that money goes towards certification and people pushing papers. Who cares, it's up to the patients to pay for it, and those are easy to exploit![]()
You failed us by not posting a PN so someone could try the student purchase program. Then there's the genuine S/O surgical implant torque wrench for Implants, measures in something like mm/kgs, and sterilizable. I asked my dentist if I could get it after the procedure (always wanted a superlight torque wrench for carb jets), he told me I'd have to pay for it, and showed me what they paid for it...
Um, no, More like hell no.
The most expensive screwdriver is a Craftsman #2 Phillips. One use on a Japanese bike and you need a new carburetor and they ain't cheap.
The dad of a friend from college designed surgical tools. I had no idea until I asked about the picture of an AC Cobra (original). Then dad decided they needed a bigger boat so they bought the boat company because that was ”cheaper”. Then came half an island in the Bahamas plus a sea plane to get there..
You better check what insurance companies actually pay for it. And then wonder where you premiums go.Wait until you see what they bill the insurance company for both. And you wonder why your premiums and deductables are high, and your coverage stops low.
Wow, I have that exact tool bought new years ago! I never saw another one until this post.
If I ever got to go on a space walk, I'd chuck a 10mm socket out in space.Wouldn't be surprised to find some of those 10mm sockets up there.
