Ampro 1/2 metric and SAE set.
Only skip form 10-32mm is the 31mm.
Package arrived damaged so the 11mm and the 3/4 are missing sadly.
$55 to my door

Unlike my previous set , the ratchet, extensions etc are mirror finished while my other set is satin with model numbers stamped. I have way too many 1/2 socket sets now. Must stop buying but when it's Ampro or Gedore at reasonable money, I have a hard time scrolling on.

Two pair of these came in yesterday:

Not tools? Try working where I do without them this time of year. 18F when I started the rig this AM.

Did you laugh at the cold? Oh wait, that was Damart long underwear.

More on Damart and Duofold, starting at:

Have you tried the modern wool baselayers? Smartwool is the first big name, but L.L. Bean's "Cresta" base layers are just as good for a little less (or a lot less come spring.) Also, REI, and many other brands now. The itch is gone!

Vessel No. 2 Phillips (JIS!) screwdriver. Not a replaceable bit, permanent Phillips No. 2 (JIS.)

IMG_0159.jpg

Ball pops off to make ratcheting stubby bit driver, no bit included.

IMG_0161.jpg

Change of direction ring puts up a bit of a tussle -- do they break in with use?

Amazon, $13! The price is the cherry on the sundae. I am enthused.

I'm assuming this is the metric set, yes?
That’s it! The SAE set they shipped initially was missing one wrench. They overnight, Saturday delivery sent a full replacement set, and I returned the original. I offered to just have them send me the missing piece, but they insisted on the wholemset, so we could be sure they match. McMaster has great customer service.

I've been wearing the old-school double-layer Duofolds for my entire life. This time, I realized that my bottoms from a few years back were actually shot full of holes and the waistbands were dying too late in the season. Everywhere I looked was out of my size--medium. So I settled for the medium-weight, single-layer "wicking" bottoms instead. So far, so good--very comfortable and very warm. At 45F, I have my sleeves rolled up while working outside.

New tools from yesterday and today. Mac small brake caliper hangers. I always lose these things so decided to get a bright color and maybe I won’t forget them lol. Tap sockets because they are so handy and make life much easier. And then an oil filter band wrench type thing for the small Toyota filters. All my coworkers have the same one so since it makes life easier I got it. And of course socks. I love quality socks and I’m a sucker for socks especially when I can buy a huge pack. The huge pack of Christmas socks came with a huge price tag too lol. I don’t ask prices I just tell them I want it. And then I done something I’d never do I bought Snap-on chrome sockets. Why? Well because Harbor Freight is always out of semi deep sockets when I go to get them so I just decided to get the Snap-on ones. He gave them to me for a good price because they just went off sale so he just went ahead and done the sale price. Let me tell you I was never a believer in semi deep sockets but after finding several places where they are handy and buying a single 17 and 19mm for brakes so got these and going to use the heck out of them. If the chrome peels on them like I have experienced with every Snap-on chrome socket I’ll just get them warrantied. As well as a mirror and a “free” hat lol. Double piston brake caliper compressor. Then a 12 inch adjustable wrench and a 10 inch 1/4 extension. I’ll admit I bought the wrench just because it felt so nice and it matches my vise grips lol. And also I don’t have one that big.

Had a Zoro code to burn so filled a few gaps.

Recently had trouble with trailer running lights (everything else worked fine) and I find testing with a DMM to be a PITA so I bought a couple of testers for the truck-side connectors and a new test light.

The CDI clicker replaces a Pittsburgh that was a raging POS. I liked the 5-75 ft-lb range on it, as it gives me good overlap at the low and high ends with my other "good" torque wrenches.

Drank the Red Kool-Aid today and walked out with my first Packout kit. The three smaller of the six in the kit are duplicates of sizes I already have, but the larger three alone would have cost more than I paid for the whole kit. Only needed the 3" for today's project, but that's not relevant, right?

Not pictured also was a 2ah M12 so I'm even between batteries and tools again in the M12 platform.

Curious what you use those for? I hear Robertson and I think 3" deck screws.
I use them in furniture making all the time. I strongly prefer them to Phillips.

So people do furniture really like them and I think they're really popular in Canada, not that I'm in Canada. For my furniture making I'm almost exclusively using one and two.

1/2" locking impact extensions and HCP48BCF hose clamp pliers from my Snap-on dealer. IMG_5091.jpg
Have a Ford up the shop, just now ...for radiator hose replacements (all hoses/belts/T Stat....)...

Do they make those pliers with a double jointed octopus? To reach the clamps the "FoMoCo Engi Mc Yuppy Neers"* put in such inaccessible spots? :eyecrazy:

I find it hard to resist gimmicks. Bottom boxes are now available.

IMG_1145.jpeg
When the top boxes showed up at my local store I bought one for my boy for Christmas (he’s 4). My wife liked it so much she ordered 8 more for all the nieces and nephews. She also ordered a bottom box for our boy. I think they’re pretty cool for what they are. And it made my Christmas shopping for the kids a whole lot easier!
