For those Americans that have purchased Rousseau boxes/cabinets, who did you purchase them through? I realize Tekton sells versions of their boxes, but I'm looking for a custom configuration, not a catalog offering. I sent in a quote request direct to Rousseau and they directed it to some dealer here in AZ, but I have a feeling they aren't really an active dealer. I also sent one to Proquip Solutions (couldn't find anything about them), so we'll see if they get back to me.

Ya know Ryan, a real man would step up and have rockstar Pat custom build ya some….

Out of stainless 😁

LOL Cam...rockstar? Not sure about that. I am musically challenged.

I have a love hate relationship with Stainless.

My pockets are deep enough for a custom from Pat.....I'm just looking for unique drawer layout!

Ryan you are hurting my one feeling I have left.

Hell, the fact Pat buys them is a selling point for me.

Rousseau does make nice stuff. In our environment they have held up better than the Lista Cabinets. And we tend to put them through hell and back.

I saw a thread where you had mentioned this, so that's what has really steered me towards Rousseau. I figure if they are holding up to your press tooling, they will hold up for the next 3 generations of my home use.

Curious your desired drawer layout and reasoning?

I've been wanting new boxes for years, but I keep putting it off as I've never found anything that really suits me. For such a big purchase a full custom option is probably the best bet so I don't regret "settling" on something. I want (2) 60" wide boxes, one with a deep top drawer for all my sockets and the other with two shallow top drawers. I also prefer more shallow drawers than what's offered in the standard configuration boxes or Tekton offerings. What I really like about the Rosseau boxes is their smaller drawers are wider than typical automotive style boxes. At this point in life I have just about every hand tool I need, so I'm really only buying specialty tools or stuff that catches my eye. I can go through my current tools and figure exactly what drawer depths I need to maximize space. The two boxes will provide me with plenty of room for future acquisitions.

Of course a Snap On Epiq would be the bees knees, but I'd probably have to live in it if my found out I just spent $20k on tool boxes......

I gotcha. Nothing wrong with getting what you want! Whatever you end up with let us know!

Talk to Steve Bankert at Doehrman in Phoenix. They have a show room and have some good deals on floor models some times

Their show room is in downtown Phoenix on Van Buren

Lee, you're saying Doehrman stocks toolboxes?

Ryan, if you decide to go checkout lee’s recommendation give me a call. I’ll come help you spend your money.

I don't need anymore help spending money, my wife has that covered!

I will say, I haven't ruled out a more simple version of the bench you made using Rousseau cabinets.

As an intern follow up, I heard back from the local dealer, KACO Warehouse Outfitters:

Their price for the custom 12 drawer boxes with SS top was $4,157. The comparable Tekton 11 drawer with SS top is $4,720. The difference is the Tekton has smaller 4" casters (I spec'd 6"), 1 less drawer, but includes freight, so it's probably a near wash.

I would say if you're in the market for a Rousseau and the Tekton layouts fit your needs, go with them as they probably have them in stock. I also just got an email this morning that they are having Christmas sale that throws in a top (non-SS). Otherwise, it looks like a custom configuration is roughly the same price and the way I will go.

I'm still a few weeks out (headed out of country next week), but I'll probably get something in the works by the end of the year.....need a write off.

Overall how tall will it be Ryan?. It was a real struggle for me not going with casters simply because of where it ended up being with just the base design. Right now I'm at 45" which works out pretty good for what I use the bench for.

What's the shipping price? Shipping for me was quoted at about $750 in 2021. That's the only reason I didn't buy a Rossaeu.

I spec'd a custom box similar to the gen 2 Tektons before they released them.

I didn't get a quote yet, but it should be in that neighborhood.

I think it was 45.5" overall with 6" casters.
