Brother in law brought me some Barnwood boards. I made a table.

Very nice!

Laid the blow-up turkey on the shop floor to melt n dry.

I get mine out of the weather, or use a sunny day, and inflate, and let them dry - Between the blower, any breeze and sun, its dry pretty quick

more details please!
How are you connecting the inflatables to this?
12v30a power supply hooked to a multi fuse block. inflatables have their power wires extended using whatever wire I have on hand and waterproof crimp connectors. I use waterproof electrical connectors to hook the inflatable up to the electrical box. Each inflatable has it's own 3a fuse on the fuse block.

Each inflatable pulls between .5 and 1 amp depending on size. Do the math to calculate how many inflatables this box will run. I'd need to add more fuse panels before I'd hit the limit of the PS. I only used this PS because I already had it in the shop.

Beautifully GJ overkill, there, but I’d have to make that wiring harness a lot neater.
This was the before picture. Part of what I was doing today was cleaning up wiring inside the box. There's also a lot of extra wiring from when I had a raspberry pi embedded in the box controlling relays for some 120v outlets. I still need to rip most of that out.

That would be ideal, if we didn't live in a place with actual winter. The shop heaters and circulating fans will dry it out in a couple days. Then I'll plop it in its box.

Solid day on the bronco laying out sections, pulling out wires that aint even connected to the corresponding plug to be added in if need be Then added em in anyways.

my brother is like why, a dome light? You got a 200w light bar on the top of the windshield! Why a third brake light? I replied uhmmm who’s been known to have TRIED to drive over my tent WHILE I was in it?

Everything is just rough wired (no solder), in case of movement or it dont work when I put power to it all when this phase is done. Then move onto the Sniper rewire.

Engine Compartment just needs a Nuetral Safety /back up light switch purchased and installed.

Headlights and front marker lights roughed in (Need two new bulbs, may just go halogen for now but will get LEDs eventually).

Rear Body strung out, may wait til welding on the frame is done

Started on under dash, with the head light switch plug located and connected to the new switch. Need NOS switch bezels for the few ones I will use.

I damn well should have a truck running and all lights working by time I think my mother and sister will be over for Christmas.

Then I be able to focus on the small nickel and dime **** all while back on my path of strengthening my credit score.

What year Mustang? Any pics without the cover?

@Outlawmws Just the fact of having a manual trans in a vehicle is a theft deterrent.
Don't get my 19 year old grand daughter near it! She grew up driving a 4spd, 5spd and 6spd transmissions. She has a '07 Mustang with a 5spd as a daily driver. No one ever asks to borrow her car.

When I met my (now) wife in 1980, she was driving a stick shift Toyota Celica. Ability to operate a manual transmission was not even a second thought back in those days (I think). Pretty much everyone I went to high school with was capable of that.

It's a 2007 GTCS. An experiment which I have always wanted to do. I bought it new, has my name on the window sticker because I ordered it. I always wanted to buy a new car, drive it rarely and see how nice and original I can keep it. I have only made a very slight few modifications and nothing that can't be put right back to original. It is 99.9% original, I added a Mach 1 panel on the back which is removable. Anyway, I have made it 18 years so far, and it is pristine. Never rained on, no snow, rarely a cloudy day. It has the original windshield washer fluid in it. I have the original battery, the tires are original. It is getting harder every year to drive it and keep it fully original.

I have a 2016 GT 5.0 Mustang with the premium and high performance package. Same thing. Original windshield washer fluid. No need to top it off. Never used. NO RAIN or snow. I would have to look hard to find the wiper switch as they were never used. I think the air might work as I always drive it with the window down. 18500 miles. I think you get the jest here.

This year, after just about 18 years... the internal batteries on the tire pressure sensors may have given up their batteries. Every other year they have worked fine. The car has just over 8,000 miles. I do intend to start driving it more, in the spring I will finally put new tires and sensors on it!

All I've got done so far is run out to the shop and kick the heat on and sit here wasting time, waiting on the temp to climb, lol.

I plan on at least finishing one side of the VW suspension today. My ball joints finally arrived in the mail.

Got tired of squeezing around these on the floor. So I decided to hang them up IMG_5218.jpeg

Then got the thread checker hung up and started sorting through some nuts and bolts. IMG_5219.jpeg

Honestly, I’m not really a fan of these bolt bins. I got them accidentally, as I purchased a set of three of another brand, and they sent one of that brand and substituted 2 of this other brand. The width is ok, but the holes to attach are 18 1/2”OC. You’d think that they would make them 16”OC to be able to screw into studs. I had to grab a piece of scrap 3/4” plywood, screw that into the studs, then the bins to the plywood.

I still have to do the same to the bottom. But it’s too late (not really, I’m being lazy) to cut a piece to fit. Tomorrow after work, I’ll pull the torpedo heater out and get it warm in there. It’s kinda cold right now in Indiana! Hahahaha. Then I can remove a few bins to gain access to screw the plywood to the studs.

Luckily, I don’t think I’ll fill these to capacity. I don’t think they’ll hold a lot of weight. But for the little I DO have, these should be ok. I just wish all three matched!

Make yourself a French cleat long enough to go the width of all 3 boxes, and on the boxes cut it to the individual box width. It will be much stronger for connecting to the wall, and easily lifted on or off. You still need a bottom spacer, but that can be attached to just the box.

Got the passenger side strut and ball joint done on the wife's VW. Got the driver's side disassembled. Well, almost. The ball joint nut is stuck at the end. I'm tired, I smashed my finger, and I'm done for the day.

Some other highlights of this fiasco/job:

The top bolts just twisted out of the strut mount, and visegrips wouldn't hold the bottom (too rusty), I had to cut the heads off.

There was a failing bondo patch on the bottom of the rocker under the driver's door. I had planned on touching this up when I was done with the strut job. Well, I accidentally smacked it with my ratchet handle and about a 5" hole opened up. Turns out it was a HUGE patch. Gonna need some metal work.

Then the axle was rusted/seized into the knuckle.

Oh, and I also had the genius idea to use a long carriage bolt to drive the axle out of the knuckle. Trying not to screw up the threads. But about 3 whacks in, the carriage bolt sunk in, but the axle didn't move. Looking at a CV axle diagram, I figure I must have pushed the inner shaft out of the CV joint. So, maybe I can get it to go back in, maybe I fubared the whole joint. Luckily the whole CV axle is only like $70, so it's not the end of the world, but I ain't getting this job finished today, that's for sure.

Man, dudes. I hate working on FWD cars. I just don't do it enough, and it seems like I am always dicking something up with axles.

Didn't get my Valkyrie out this year due to pneumonia earlier in the year. My knees are shot since my accident. Even with the knee replacement. Haven't enough leg strength to feel comfortable on the bike but I'm working on building up the leg muscles. Maybe next year. Need to rebuild the carbs anyway.
You are telling my story. Even the motorcycle is the same model.
It was an overcast day today. I stayed inside at my desk and looked longingly at the garage. I have a list of things I want to check on. I don't like hearing, "At least, you are still alive! Alive has a rather loose connection to life. When most of the joy that makes a life worth the bother has exit stage left, I struggle. Then I look over in the family room and see my wife. She looks good. The ravages of nearly 50 years of marriage to me did not take her good looks away. Tomorrow everything will be much better. I promise to try.

Messed around with the 3 Christmas inflatables that aren't inflating.

The new blower fans came in so I rigged one up for testing. I don't think the fans are the issue. I think the old plastic/canvas is just leaking too much air.

I could try spraying them with tent spray to see if that will seal them. I did try spraying one with starch. I'll let it dry and see if it inflates any better.

The wife and I did pick up one new inflatable while at Walmart on Sunday. I think the new inflatable cost about $2 more than the replacement blowers I bought off Amazon. :/ At least the blowers can be used on something else.

These were the first 3 we ever bought. I can't even think of how old they are. It may be time to just replace these 3.

I started another print.

Started gluing some of the ornament parts together. Had to drill out some holes that got filled with resin.

Then I heard a snap. Filament broke. Luckily I was right there. Stopped the print and loaded the filament. Whew. 3 hours in on a 9 hour print.

At six hours I heard another snap. Filament broke again. I think I saved it.

Just went to check. The printer head was stuck. Or i should say the filament is badly wound and getting stuck. I'm not sure i saved it this time. Only an hour to go.

That’s a great idea actually!

I’m not convinced this is where they’re staying though, I’m just getting floor space back for a winter project needing room. So if I end up moving them, I’ll look at doing a French cleat!

Not much.

Couple more switches under the dash hooked up then the steering column stumped me so time to google. I do have an aftermarket turn signal on its way via Amazon that should get me by until I feel comfy enough to order a stock replacement.

coat of black on the lower column to clean it before putting it back in.

couple inquiries sent out for some chrome north of the border. Don’t need dash pad, quarter panels and front fenders just yet.

Moved and flipped the turkey. It's spread out under the boat.
Installed the air shutdown microswitch on the laser burner. Now the air assist shuts down when the laser parks. Drilled a couple vent holes near the laser cam to keep the smoke away.
Updated a bunch of decoration files to run on the new laser. Updated the display bases for the thicker plywood. Burned a bunch of decorations. Assembled bases.

Damn big hammers for chainsaw work ! LOL !
Sometimes things a little extra nudge 😂

It pisses him off, he beats it into submission.
They were sitting on the workbench and I just hung up everything that was in the bench lol. They probably have no need to be there but it’s always good to keep your options open 🤣

Wanted a separate small stand for my plasma cutter. Had some drop material that worked for my needs. Wanted something not attached to my welders that can be a kind of rover in my shop. I added a small filter and dryer to it as well. Had one prior on a shared cart. I like it much better solo, lot easier to move around without bottles and welders.

Finished up the majority of the POS Honda Element. Replacing and fixing little things that previous mechanics have messed up along the way. I cannot wait til this thing is off my lift.
I will confess that I always had some admiration for those things. Rubber floor covering from the factory, seats that fold out of the way in the back, could be mighty useful as a daily.

The Element is one of the best vehicles we've ever produced. I used to race one up until two months ago. This one in-particular is a giant POS because whomever has worked on it in the past, should have their hands lopped off.
