We are a group of High School students in the PLTW Engineering Design and Development class. This is a survey pertaining to losing sockets, and we will use the data collected in this survey to attempt validate and solve the issue of losing/dropping sockets. Seems a bit on the questionable side for such an endeavor

link to a google hosted file

You would think the school would offer you hosting for both of those items to avoid others, like myself from questioning if this is a scam and the link is to a hackers ********* file masquerading as something benign or legit.

So, let's start with the basics, so we can verify you are who you say you are.

We decided to create our own gmail account so that we aren't associating it with our real names. We go to a high school in the Midwest, and as we are minors I would rather not share more personal information. The class is PLTW EDD (Engineering, Development and Design.) We need responses as soon as we can get them, our last problem fell through so now we're trying to catch up. If I can help in any other way, let me know.

It’s a flippin’ Google Docs link. It does not require you to solicit personal information from a minor online. Get a grip.

Creating a Gmail account and Google drive is a completely standard approach for this kind of thing.

Way back, while our child was in HS (and college), the HS (college) always had some association with such "surveys" to give them an air of legitimacy. Either on school letterhead, or a link back to an administrator/supervisor (I was one for a HS based MS/Linux/Unix survey in 2001) who was supervising the survey. In this case, the OP's post and follow up does not lend itself to either/or. So pardon me while I act a little cynical or cautious to such posts/requests. You can participate, no issues with anyone who does, but for me, I shall not.

Times have changed. This approach is far faster, cheaper and more versatile. Plus it protects the kids involved.
They are also not collected any identifiable info, but all that is already available on the dark web anyways

The most they are getting is your Gmail address.

Does anyone know any other methods of getting our survey out there? Maybe more forums, or groups? We're still running pretty low on responses.

question #1 the 10mm is always lost true/false.
question #2 6pt sockets are better then 12pt sockets true/false.
question #3 snap on is better than icon true /false.
question #4 the golden rule you are putting the snap-on kids through college true/false.
question #5 no one uses a breaker bar on sockets instead it's a 10-foot pipe true/false.
question #6 only old geezers use corded tools these days true/false.
question #7snap-on blows and strap-on for the win true/false.
question #8 if it isn't broke don't fix it true/false.
question #9 Chinese craftsman sockets for the win true/false.
question 10 give it some time and everything will come from Aisa true/false.

There fixed it for you.

When do you lose the most sockets? For example, is it during changing out sockets?

Generally speaking (at least for me and most of my wrenching friends), is that sockets are typically not lost "during" the changing of sockets on a ratchet.

I think for the most part you will be working on a project, and frequently changing out sockets. What happens is that you run out of places to put the sockets you're using, so you start placing sockets on any convenient surface. The sockets then either roll away when you aren't looking, or you finish the job and forget about sockets you left somewhere.
