They won't just take back what they sent you? That's weird

They will take it back, they just wont make the purchase good. Wont send a battery that they forgot to send. I have to cancel and reorder. Price went up $50.00 however. They will not honer the original deal price for their screwup. All i want is the battery shipped to me. Nothing says its backordered on my online account, it shows I received it and the UPS truck pulled up while i was in the driveway an personally handed me the box, i assumed battery would be inside. They did this about two years ago , however then it showed the battery coming in another shipment and that would be fine, but it doesnt say that.

I've had this happen several times over the last couple years. The "free" battery comes in a separate shipment, not packaged with the tool. Maybe because the shipping regulations are different for li-on batteries than a tool alone. Maybe it comes from a different location.

Just happened a couple months ago with the largest Milwaukee demo hammer and a free 12 ah battery. I had the tool a week before the battery arrived.

I've also had the same thing happen when there is a free tool involved, it comes in a separate shipment.

Every time the people in the store had no clue what is going on. Which is why I never ship to store anymore, always to home or the office, which is 100 foot from the back door at HD.

My saw and battery came in a box together. Saw in original box, battery in clamshell package.

The joys of Christmas shopping.....

I went to Home Depot yesterday.
Spent way too much money, and completely forgot all about what it was I went there for, so I ended up back there again today, with a few side-stops along the way.

They had a 300-piece "Husky" set on sale for $99 yesterday.
Home Depot was having some whoopie-doo promo on DeWalt and they had the music blaring so loud yesterday I couldn't wait to get out of there. GAH! They had a mess of different gloves on sale. Can you stuff gloves into Christmas stockings?
I walked up and down the tool aisles but didn't see anything that set my hair on fire. Still can't figure out how they got me for almost a C-note.

Lowes was down to pink and white only on their "mini" Kobalt tool boxes. They were on sale for $12.98 but pink or white was a deal killer.
They didn't have the black rubber mat I was looking for, which is why I ended up at Home Depot again. Bought a roll of some black "liner" stuff from Home Depot for that one-inch-drive box. Better than nothing, I suppose.

I had to pick up an item at the Tacoma "Mall". Three near-misses by people trying to kill me in the parking lot. Not sure if the guy in the red truck was drunk or having some sort of "medical emergency". I was reminded once again why I never go there any more.

Harbor Freight was completely out of their "U.S. General" "mini" tool boxes. The girl at the cash register said they are expecting delivery of more in about two weeks. So much for that idea.
I looked at their "ICON" stuff and asked if I could look at one of their ratchets.
"Only after you pay for it," the girl told me.
Another deal killer. I do not buy tools sealed up in black cardboard boxes, sorry. I get to touch and feel or no sale. Terrible marketing blunder, considering virtually every other contemporary tool manufacturer has designed packaging that allows you to spin the ratchet around while it's still in the package. So... another big ZERO for Harbor Freight. Was really hoping to get my money's worth out of that $30 membership fee, but it looks like it ain't gonna happen. Walked out empty-handed again.

When I got to O'Reilly's Auto Parts after the Harbor Freight visit, a young man working the counter said he just bought a "Kobalt" 297-piece set at Lowes for $99.
The girl who works the counter said she got a Craftsman "V" set on sale at Lowes for $99. (Go figure!)
Their tiny little "Titan" ratchets were on sale and I got to play with them first, so they got some more of my money.
I gave them half of the poppyseed cake I'd picked up earlier at the Russian deli. They loved it.

I was at McLendon's a couple days ago. They didn't have the black rubber mat I was looking for either, but they did have an intriguing pair of Milwaukee 9-inch lineman's pliers. The $54 price point seemed a bit stiff, so I left empty-handed.

After I left Home Depot earlier today, I swung over to Pratt Electric. They had the same pair of "Milwaukee" 9-inch lineman's pliers for $46. I asked the guy helping me if he'd gotten any feedback on them.
"Hmm... it's a new item, I don't think I've sold any yet," he replied.
One of his co-workers chimed in "Hey, with Milwaukee it's 50-50."
They got a bunch of my money for some Klein stuff. (y) I'll take @sparky 1971 's word on pliers any day of the week over "50-50".

Even though it's not what I wanted, that black mat looks pretty snazzy in that box. (y)

YMMV

That really annoyed me to and I went a long time without trying one. I finally bought one. Opened it up and tried it. Figured if I didn't like it I'd just return it on the spot.

I liked it. I bought another one like that one so now I own two

Came across a pretty good deal on Milwaukee stuff on the HD site by accident... not obvious (to me), but this is a Buy More Save More deal that appears to apply only to MW Packout items.

Basically, to maximize the savings, spend $400, and save 37.5% (assuming my math is correct)...

(I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS ENDS!)

I'm actually going to return two of the M12 underhood lights and one battery today because I ordered with free battery for $200 and used my 10% off coupon but when adding other things to the cart the battery got lost somewhere and I didn't realize until the light showed up without a battery. I contacted HD and they said they couldn't do anything as it wasn't showing up in the order anymore so I'd have to return and rebuy. So I did that... Then it was on sale for deal of the day $160 a couple days later and I asked if they could just price match. Nope because deal of the day is one sku for both and what was ordered was two separate skus. Frustrating, but in the end I really like the light... I just don't need 3 of them. Sometimes HD support chat can be great and other times not so great.

Quarter 4 promo at most Milwaukee retailers. It started at the very end of October, and goes til Feb 2 judging by the calendar.

HD didn't have as many sales this year compared to Lowes. I was kinda surprised by that this year. All I picked up this year was Dewalt 779 Miter Saw and some Besey clamps.

Black Friday is a mechanism for businesses to rake in sales density to get into the black, accounting-wise, for the year. With some, perhaps many, corporations raking in profits by the billions there is little incentive to offer substantial discounts for Black Friday.

Those are supposed to be great compressors. I think the "original" prices were ludicrously high.

BTW, it's 2025, we should probably have a new HD thread. Maybe a permathread (like the Lowe's one).

If it wasn't raining ICE here, I'd motor over to Home Depot to grab one of the 5.2g units. It'll have to wait.
Yeah....my brother is in Manhattan...says it's a skating rink out there! Good news is if they've got any left it's unlikely they're getting sold today!

I noticed yesterday that a lot of the Gearwrench stuff was marked down at my local Ace Hardware.

Is GW having issues?

Whoever posted about the Square D 200 amp value pack boxes, thank you! {Edit - thank you drwheels!]

I can verify there's 2 more unopened and 1 more opened and taped shut at Maple Hts OH store as of 1-5 at 12 am for $85 ea

QO42M200PCVP

Great deal. I bought 2, one for Green Acres barn and another for my daughters' house (it's overkill, but it's still got fuses)

Some cabinets are starting to head towards clearance pricing. YMMV. This was in Wake Forest, NC. They also had a 6 foot workbench marked down but none were in stock.
